Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth survives?How?

Well what you could do is butterfly away the Deluge. Also get rid of Liberim Veto:)

In otl the PLC was a major power, so here are some steps you need to keep it around. Have the Swedes focus solely on Russia ignoring Poland. so these are the steps.

Get the swedes to concentrate all assets on Russia.

Have Poland get rid of Liberum veto

During the time of troubles the Polish king had a claim to the Russian throne so what you need is to keep Russia backwards so have Michael Romanov killed. This butterflys away the Romanov dynasty.

These are some PODs before the 17th century, however Poland could also succeed during the 17 and 18th century: Make sure the Deluge does not Happen!!!

Or butterfly away the whole war of Polish succestion.

These are the two main PODs after the 1600s if you want the PLC to live

One important thing to remember is that in whichever POD you use get rid of Liberum Veto!!!!;)

This was one the first topics I posted upon after joining this site. In general, to keep the PLC alive you'll need to weaken Muscovy-Russia in someway to prevent its rise to power.

Have some king diminish the power of the szlachtas so that they're more like a Parliament than just a huge stumbling block. Then have them annex East Prussia when they can, so there's not Prussian Kingdom to worry about. There were once proposals for having a Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian Commonwealthy, so doing that would remove the threat of Tartar incyursions, or at least provide a buffer state for the Polish heartland. Then just keep a strong army and try not to invade Russia.

I agree. Have to deal with Russia to save Poland-Lithuania. The Russian go around and nickling and diming all of its neighbors to death. The Tsars were just so greedy; they had the largest land empire in the world, and yet they wanted more.

With a weaker Muscovy (say, Ivan the Terrible fails to conquer Astrakhan and Sibir) you'd ensure that Poland-Lithuania prevails.

That, the Jagiellons prevailing against the szlachtas, and a preemptive conquest of East Prussia (instead of merely holding them in vassalage) is what I'm using in my TL.
