Poland-Lithuania not partitioned

Hi!

I'm listening to a course on Eastern Europe at the moment. I'm hearing many countries were shocked by the blatant takeover of Poland-Lithuania by Russia, Prussia (I think), and Austria. What would have happened if this country was not partitioned?

One thing that happens is Kosciusko doesn't assist the American colonies in their revolution attempt. Presumably he stays in Poland-Lithuania.

Killing off Prussia is the easiest way, I would imagine, seeing as internal reform was rather difficult in the PLC whereas Prussia came to the brink of destruction not a few times beforehand (only saved by incredible luck, like with the Miracle of the House of Brandenburg in the 7 Years' War). No Prussia means it's just Austria and Russia vying for dominance, which means propping up the buffer state rather than split it up as a compromise between three parties.

I’ve read that the Commonwealth was basically a failed state by the 18th century. Maybe you can somehow have some hero king defeat both Russia and Sweden and avoid the deluge, giving him the capital to reform the state

There were chances to save PLC up to 1790s. First partition at least stimulated reforms, but 3rd May Constitution was step too far. All PLC needed was to survive untill Napoleonic Wars, which was really close.

Poland wasn't the failed state. The political system was pathological and dysfunctional, but that wasn't a period of a total war, destruction and etc. , but a period of economical and demographical growth. Also the fall of Poland was after a serious reform effort had been started. Neighbors who previously had utilized a poor state of Poland for their gains, they just didn't want to lost their influece when Poland finally had hope of becoming well governed, so they took advantage of a poor condition and erased the Serenissima Res Publica.
Well, how does it not happen? Any PODs?
Lubomirski's rebellion in 1667 is smashed and this villanous scum is hanged. For a pov for this ALT it might be that Czarniecki didn't die in the eve of the rebellion. Lubomirski isn't well present in a polish common historical memory, but really his personal ambitions against the first and honestly the last serious attempt to reform Poland after the Deluge, caused all later calamities.

On a polish historyboard History dot Org is a long and well detailed ATL about a succesful reforms in Poland after the Deluge with a french prince becoming the king.

If John Casimir's son, John Sigismund (Born And died in 1652) survived, then King would bot try to enforce election 'vivente rege' of "some Frenchman" (Henri se Conde) WHO was married to his wife's niece. Thus nobles of PLC would not be enraged and Lubomirski's rebellion would not happen.
