The Polish government had attempted to implement a series of reforms around the same time as the rise of the Republic of France. Thus, the Great Sejm was founded. Although it was later kicked out by the first and second partitions, the Kościuszko Uprising still occured and nearly threw off foreign control. The proclamation of the Połaniec caused major Jacobist unrest in Poland for years to come. Would it at all be possible for Poland to succeed in holding back foreign forces? Perhaps getting help from Napoleon later on?
