Poland-Brandenburg instead of Poland-Lithuania

This union was attempted a couple of times, Henry the Virtuous of Wroclaw married Matilda of Brandenburg and Jadwiga of Lithuania's suitor is the Margraviate of Brandenburg, for this reason, what if Henry the Virtuous succeeds in reestablishing the Kingdom of Poland, is it possible for the sons of Henry the Virtuous to claim the Margraviate of Brandenburg once the ascanian line is already extinguished?

Well, the first match wouldn't help since Brandenburg (like most German states) is covered by Salic Law AFAIK. However, the second - Jadwiga Jagiellonika to the second son of the Elector of Brandenburg - is easier to do. Just have the marriage happen sooner, maybe Brandenburg supports Poland in the war, and have his older brother die, or just have Sofia of Halshany not succeed in poisoning her.

There is a good chance Poland gets Germanized, while Lithuania/Belarus goes Orthodox and becomes a rival to Moscow's OTL ascent to rule over the East Slavs.

Or the opposite and or a combinign creating a bradenburgian-Polish common indetity(less called it prussian for lack of better name), so this prussia with some luck and before the conversion of the Hohenzollern, can be the State of Middle Europa, specially if Hohenzollern keep some of their military talent and easily expand all east of Elbe into a 'prussian' national state, separated the rest of HRE.

Maybe they will try won Bohemia of the Inbreed Hasburgs?

I think if Brandenburg gets united with Poland, I think Silesia gets reincorporated to Poland sooner.

That is more pausable, as hasburg power in Silesia was pretty weak(Hohenzollern developed a lot Silesia under Frederick II onward) and allow have a big powerbase, part of OTL prussia plus poland... and talking about it... what about Ducal-Royal prussia? unify with lithuania or left alone?

And the Slavic Population in Silesia are Poles who still have a large population in Silesia about 40-60% at that time - so it would happen, for Ducal Prussia and Royal Prussia, it could either stay under the Teutons and left alone or gained by Poland-Brandenburg - Poland-Brandenburg already have sea access which is Western Pomerania.

Yeah and the would prefer more 'polish-german' polbran that the hasburgs, and would make a big power base and leave that 'central european state' one that the hasburg, Lithuania-ruthenian and by proxy.... Russia should beware in the way and one big ally France, HRE-Austria and England would court for their side.

Yeah prussia would be leave alone, maybe Join Lithuania or become a minor royal nation, one who give monarch and act like the 'venetia of baltic' when the major power are in war?.

What will be POLBRA(POLand-BRAdenburg) future? expand at cost of lithuania? created the 'central state' and the frontier of germans west of elbe? Doing Nothing and keep meddle neighboord 'OUT of our Lawn'?

Will they try to get colonies? maybe conflict with denmark and sweden for baltic domination?

I'm confused about what's going on in this thread. Why are we talking about Royal Prussia if the POD is 14th century Poland?

I Don't know the term of the era, is a geografical expresion, like Italy or France in retrospective, the same for HRE.

There are still slavs in Brandenburg at that time.

Why is that the assumption? Couldn't Brandenburg be Polonized? Or couldn't they maintain distinct cultures like Austria and Hungary?

@ NikoZnate: I tend to agree, a relationship like OTL Habsburg Austria and Hungary (earlier also Bohemia) seems likely to develop.
However Brandenburg was far less important than the Austrian Hereditary Lands. IIRC Brandenburg was sometimes referred to as the 'sandbox'.

Silesia might just as well stay Bohemian, since they will be aware of their neighbor to the north.

That is why I prefer a POD with a different monarch reestablishing Poland and retaining most of Silesia and later have a claim to brandenburg.

Possible, again Bradenburg wa still catholic but still heavely germanized, maybe a new culture, based in german polish languange?

Possible, especially as Hohenzollern just start to rise in power and via family union, the prestigous title of king of poland alongside bradenburg would be too good for not take the chance

If Poland is united with Brandenburg, Poland-Brandenburg would most likely be an Axis power.
Buddy exist something called butterflies, axis power are like 600 years into future and will never exist with the POD, and a Bradenburg-Poland would be mostly a neutral state depending theit size(not wanting lithuanian or russia meddle in their turf, the same for other german states) and his power and influece with other nations
