Hi. You can call me Biden, and I'm making a TL (believe it or not!).
Playing the Game Our Own Way is a TL about American Imperialism, in the late 19th century especially. It will begin in 1846 and run until the modern day. There are multiple PODs, going as far back as the 1830s. If I write well, these PODs will be subtly revealed throughout the TL until by the end you can have a pretty good idea of what happened. Or not. In which case, I'll provide a list when I'm finished or near finished.
Playing the Game is not an Ameriwank, nor is it an Ameriscrew. There are good things happening to the U.S, and there are bad things (as well as the rest of the world).
Please be kind to my TL. It's my very first one (someone get the picture book!), and I will make some mistakes. But I'll eventually learn.
One last thing before I begin: PtG is in a unique "Wikipedia" form. This means that I will make each update look like something like a wikipedia page. We'll see how well it works.
Let's roll.

End of American Isolationism
From Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia
(Redirected from Isolated America)
The
End of American Isolationism is the period in which the United States of America changed from a nation involved in its own affairs into an imperial world power. Most historians agree the period lasted between the decades of 1840 and 1870. The idea of
American Superiority began during this period, which ultimately lead to a devastating conflict between the United States and much of Europe a century later.
President James K. Polk is said to be the president who would begin the era. By starting the Mexican-American War, he began the new policy of short, beneficial conflicts the United States could win easily. Such conflicts would include the
Spanish-American War, the
French-American War, and the
Samoa Crisis.(note: not all of these wars are during the End of American Isolationism)
Although the conflicts concerning the Northern and Southern states would slow expansion, by the end of the 1870s the United States could no longer claim to be an isolationist nation. The era of American Superiority would then begin.

.
Hope you enjoyed it so far, and will continue to do so. This is going to be a lot of fun.
