I feel like doing a short TL that is entirely unrealistic about Onkle Willie's recent question in this thread: https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=160614
Basically it takes the unrealistic premise that the Bolsheviks realize that there will be no revolution in Germany or Austria-Hungary before the CPs invade Russia, so they cut a deal earlier with the Central Powers, meaning Brest-Litovsk happens in January 1918 and is far milder:
Poland and Lithuania are turned over to the CPs, indemnities are paid to the CPs for nationalized industries in Russia (amounting to 6 Billion Reichmarks) and prisoners are exchanged. This mean no invasion of Ukraine or push in the Baltics, nor is there an exchange of AH territory for food.
What will follow is a much more practical and wise series of moves that would be uncharacteristic for the CPs (mainly Austria) at the time, but would be much wiser given their circumstances. As a result it changes the end game of the war, which means a different peace.
