Plausibility of a 400s/500s Arab expansion?

Maps, Tribal Loyalties, Economic dependencies, troop numbers, trade routes, the whole shebang. How tribal and clan loyalties work - are they more de jure or de facto, can a clan change tribe, is there a penalty for that - who worshipped what, which way, etc. Important geographic positions (i.e. Water supplies, defensive locations, places people chose to live).

I.e. Probably a lot more than can reasonably be consumed from a forum post :D

I know some of the basics - i.e. where the Mar'ib Dam is, and the basic topology - and some of the major groups like Lahkmids/Tanukhids/Ghassanids (even if I spell them wrong). Heck, I even understand that there are different sub-groups of Arab like the S.Arabs and (confusingly) Arabized-Arabs.

But it is really the tribes and locations that for love nor money can I find decent resources on that can tie them to numbers and locations - perhaps that is because they are nomadic, and thus have widely overlapping ranges, but it makes coming up the PoD ideas involving Arabia a pain in the a**.

I can try do a kind of summary in a bit. I can send in your inbox later.
