Plausibility Check: Jurchen / Tungusic tribes migrate to eastern Europe

I had an idea of Jurchen (or other Tungusic) tribes migrating instead of into China but westward towards Europe, maybe partly along the Silk Road, and settling in Carpathia or Pannonia. Eventually, they would assimilate and mix with the other peoples in the area, leaving a state (or several states) populated by people of European appearance but speaking Jurchen / Manchu / another Tungusic language. Is any of this plausible?

Sounds similar to the Pecheneg arrival into Europe from Central Asia and earlier barbarians like the Huns.

The way migrations usually work is either 1) thorough conquest and they just keep expanding, or 2) they keep being defeated by other foes and continually forced west. In either case, it'll need to be dramatic experience to explain how they arrive so far west. In order to get the ethnic Jurchens out there, the second option would be better.

There isn't really a problem of them showing up, but it is less likely they'll still be talking their own language after hundreds of years. It's possible, but not the most likely scenario.

What would improve odds of keeping their language is if they quickly convert to Christianity as the Church is key to any kind of literary legacy. If we start having texts recorded in Jurchen using Latin, Greek, or Cyrilic alphabets, the greater the chance the language will be preserved as opposed to subsumed into the language of the original native people whose lands the Jurchen conquered. Once Bishops show up and recruit Jurchen priests and bishops to evangelize their own people, the more likely Jurchen becomes a literary language recording their own history and preserving their own culture. Otherwise, they'll be more likely to abandon their language for that of the people they conquered as they assimilate into Christian European society.

This premise appeared in Turtledove's Agent of Byzantium series - he had Jurchens raiding the Danube frontier of Byzantium in the early 14th century.

I echo Blackfox5's analysis. Basically, have the Jurchens go the Hungarian route, or, if you just want them as a small minority, the Gagauz Turk route. Assimilation to eastern Christianity with an early adoption of (cyrillic?) literacy.
