Plausibility Check: French Egypt, Palestine, and Syria

Not without mastery of seas, which implies no French Revolution, and a weakened Britain.

The problem is that a continued Bourbon France in the XIXth would have little interest going for the region, which would mean a really important conflict with Britain, for no much reason.
 
I was thinking of a similar scenario, where the French dominates the Mediterranean, while the British dominates the other oceans.

I'm not sure this is sustainable long term, because continuous wars means they will have naval battles. Either one side is strong enough to win supremacy everywhere, or neither is and both sides can sail in both the Atlantic and the Med.
