And his experiments continue on. Would it be feasible to have beetroot sugar production in Eastern Europe by mid-18th century with the start of experiments in 1695 or some such?
For those wondering - it's for my part of Appolinis et Dianae project - I'm looking for cash crops other than grain for PLC and Russia and sugar beet is an obvious staple.
