Plausibility Check: a Wittelsbach on the Spanish throne

Was there a possibility in the XVIII century?

Please be as precise as yuo can.
Different War of Spanish Sucessor and they become a compromise candidate, maybe the idea of swaping bavaria lands for Austrian Netherlands/Burgundy would be included in the way.

Wasn't Joseph Ferdinand of Bavaria acknowledged as heir of his great-uncle Charles II?
Yes, he was. So if the young lad doesn't kick the bucket, then in 1700 when El Hechizado drops dead, we have a Wittelsbach Dynasty in Spain.
It's quite likely that he'd be José I, or possibly José-Ferdinando I, and would likely marry his Hapsburg cousin Maria Amalia when both are old enough.

Even better might be if JF's mother were to survive. I think she died giving birth to him, but am not sure.

In that case, she and her husband might have had more children, thus securing the Wittelsbach succession into the future.
