Plausbility Check: Akira Kurosawa tapped to do a Western??

Totally random thought; maybe Kurosawa gets called in for a brief consultation/visit at some point during the filming of Magnificent Seven. Spending a couple days on the set could not only give him the inspiration to make a Western of his own, but might also give him a bit more familiarity with how American film-making works, which might let him avoid/lessen some of his early stumbles.

*shrugs* that's definately a possibility. Would make for a good POD.

If Kurosawa had success in westerns, then he might get interested into doing an anime production. Whoknows, we might get Akira Kurosawa
doing AKIRA!

Anyone wanna help me craft this ATL's timeline??

I'd actually love to help. I have some alternate film history ideas myself and this would be fantastic. We need some good photoshopping though, methinks.

I'm imagining a true Samurai Western and I can't think of anything cooler. I wonder if there's any way for Kurosawa to get involved with Italians in any way. A Leone/Kurosawa collab would change the history of film making forever. Maybe they are both asked to do the Godfather...

...sweeeet...
