Plausability, Southern Ireland tricked into WW2

So if this is post May 1941, the first issue I'd see is the need for the UK to divert highly demanded resources to Ireland (assuming maybe the Canadians might be used) AA guns by the crap load (there was less than a dozen in total in Ireland at the time from memory), fighters..

The thing is...what would there be in Ireland for the Germans to bomb?
Sure, they would have a good go at Dublin every now and then just for the political effect. And I guess any decent port would be high on their target list.
But I'd think trying to flatten industry in the UK would remain a higher priority for them.

I'd say Cork would be at high risk, I could see Cobh and the harbour being a major target (both for RN ships based there and any merchant ships present), and given navigation at the time Cork would be pretty exposed to accidental bombings.
