Is it possible for a united Italy to be ruled by Plantagenets?
Feb 21, 2011 #3 Yorel The Plantagenêt would first have to rule one of the Italian States then lead the country to unification. Didn't one of Henri III's sons had a claim on Sicily at one point? If so, having him successfully claim it could be a start.

Feb 21, 2011 #4 Elfwine Edmund was offered it, I believe, but I don't think it went any further than the Pope wanting a nonHohenstaufen - there's no Plantagent tie to the region.
