Pilgrims land at Jamestown

hey, all. i made a note to myself to look into this idea a while back and only just now discovered it. as i recall, the pilgrims who settled at Plymouth were actually headed for Jamestown but were blown off-course

the question is simple enough. aside from (probably) butterflying the first Thanksgiving and taking that entire holiday out of the equation, what does everyone think would be the consequences of this?

I believe you are wrong in this. While they were headed for 'Virginia', back then that was a MUCH broader and vaguer area than the modern state. Moreover, they were trying to set up their own colony where they could worship their own way. No way would they want to join a very Anglican existing group.

But, still. Let's suppose they end up in eg New Jersey, say. It would massively change American history. And wo would settle OTLs New England? Would Maine stay French, perhaps.

The French likely would have had everything north of New Netherland, I think.
