Pilcher Instead Of Wright

What if whatever flaw or whatever that caused the crankshaft of the engine of Percy Pilcher's triplane to break in OTL isn't present/doesn't occur and on 30th September 1899, instead of flying his glider for the final and fatal time Pilcher makes the first successful powered heavier than air flight in history in front of a crowd of onlookers and potential sponsors? Would an extra four years of development time, the first plane being a triplane rather than a biplane, and it being a British invention rather than an American one make any significant difference to the course of history?
