The Soviet Union was perhaps the only far-left nation that did not receive the economic and military assistance the Syndintern provided, which caused problems between the two powers after the war. With the lack of aid and the Soviets absorbing the brunt of the fighting, and casualties, the Soviet Union violently purged any elements of Syndicalism after the war, causing widespread international sanctions.

The Soviet Union maintained a communist society, but with a heavy tint of Nationalism and Militarism. Historian and scholars today see this as the major ideological difference between the so called "Syndicalist" and "Communist" ideologies, although variations exist within each. Other differences include role of the military and societal viewpoints on Social Justice.

Syndicalism:
  • Communal ownership of assets
  • Democratic Officer elections
  • (Usually) Leading Council
Communism:
  • Top-Down appointed leader
  • Performance based promotions
  • Singular leader with advisors.

The Tanks of the USSR are both numerous and effective, the most common being the T-90. The T-90 is a so-called 'heavy tank' compared to the Western doctrine (excluding the Combined Syndicates) of lighter, stealthier tanks. The latest Soviet Beast is the T-14 Universal Combat Platform. Sporting a 130mm gun and heavy armor, it is the largest tank both by dimension and by weight on earth. It's turret is completely automated, while all three crew members are situated in an even more heavily armored 'pod' in the hull. The tank has a 1,330 HP gas-turbine engine that is reliable and powerful, but with a short range if not for the gargantuan fuel tanks.

There are estimated to be several hundred in service by the time of the Manchurian War

The T-95 was an experimental tank developed as a successor to the T-80, which was quickly growing outdated after the Ottoman Crisis, when it was discovered that the Kontakt 1 ERA was outdated against Syndicalist HEAT shells. A new armor type was quickly added to the drawing board, where it was calculated that the T-80 just wouldn't be powerful enough to mount the desired amount of armor on the vehicle, and so a new tank was designed, in parallel to the T-90, which was considered a stopgap measure. And so, the T-95 was born. in 2001, it entered trials, but the long design period, massive costs in both design and production, and incompatibility in technologies eventually killed the project.

Ideas from it were included in the T-14, which was of superior design anyway, which 'avenged' it's legacy.

The Union of Britain, one of only two nations in the SyndIntern which practices Totalism, is known for their elite marines. Revolutionary Marines, much like the old Royal Marines, are deadly shock troops, well supplied, well trained, and fanatically devoted to Syndicalism and the SyndIntern, to the extent that a massive scandal was caused when a French General remarked that they were "almost a sort of nationalist."

Not exactly. The Bolshevik Revolution is "defeated" but the leaders stay in Siberia and Central Asia, some leaving to France, Britain, and South American syndicalists (for example, Vasily Chuikov). They use the growing discontent to their advantage, and in 1930, the discontent spills over, and the military and Bolshevik militias fight each other openly. The specter of Bolshevism that loomed in the early twenties was noticed much faster by Germany this time, and they intervened quickly. They pushed the Communists outside of Moscow, but were not able to push much further than that.

Rapid industrialisation and crackdowns on dissent (as well as the return of several important figures from abroad) and personal freedom turned the Soviet Union into a war-ready nation by 1941, with a massive infantry army supported by some tanks. (Infantry used for almost everything, including AT duties, hence the PTRD in the very first photo).

@theg*ddam*hoi2fan I just discovered your head canon for the Cold War in hoi4! I’m truly intrigued by it! But I’ve a question. What proxy wars occurred during the Cold War? As well as terrorism and civil unrest? Is there a summary or something similar on the lore you can give? I want to help post pic and captions related to your lore. Thanks! :)

Australasian actress Jessica Green starring in the popular fantasy TV series "The Settlement" as the half-elf heroine Talon Blackblood. But when the Empire set their eyes on this small outpost, Talon must rally her fellow settlers and the native "Greyskin" tribes to fight for their home and freedom.

A US soldier passes by a burning hut in the village of Hoang near Hanoi, the capital city of the Empire of Indochina aka North Indochina during a raid on suspected insurgents of the nationalist pro-South Indochina (or Republic of Indochina), Indo-Minh. This war was waged by Qing China (North China) and aided by the US (ruled by the NRC) while South Indochina was supported by Republican China (South China). The UK and commonwealth also aided the south and China with special forces, logistics, air strikes and volunteers and weaponry sent to the military of South Indochina.
