I think it'll take at least 20 years for people to start feeling not as vengeful towards Zacks to be able to get behind such a cause, but yeah, I can definitely see activists protesting against that.
Post-war, the tourist attraction of the Cu Chi Channels offers tourists the chance to fire Vietnam War-era weapons at chained zombies. The move itself is considered controversial by activists that claim zombies need to be disposed of humanely rather than being turned into some sort of sport or entertainment.

Rioting consumes a surban cul-de-sac in Mapleton, New York during the Great Panic.
Local emergency services cleaning up the following morning. The remaining residents fled Mapleton shortly afterwards, and the town has not been rebuilt or repopulated since. Instead the ruins have become a UNESCO World Harritage Site honoring victims of the early chaos.

The Three Gorges Dam before collapsing: the destruction of the Three Gorges Dam, which occurred about three years into the war. The Dam was overrun by zombie hordes, due to the military being stretched so thin by the poor decisions of the Politburo, which made the emergency pressure release valves impossible to reach. Thus when a pressure release was required, no one could perform it. This eventually results in the Three Gorges Dam rupturing, resulting in a massive tsunami which races to the ocean, destroying what remains of Wuhan, Nanjing, and Shanghai. Following this pinnacle of ineptitude by the Politburo, more than half of China's remaining military units mutinied and began a Chinese Civil War.

A dead city after the Horde has swept through infecting or killing everything in its path. Although 99.8% of the pre-war inhabitants left or died to the zombies, a remarkable .5% of the population managed to survive in basements, or upper floors including a former President who would visit the ruined General Assembly building once a month to give a small speech, or sing the national anthem as a way of showing Sofia, and by extension Bulgaria was not dead.

Though the lands West of the Rockies would be eventually be chosen for the governments 'Redeker Plan' they still suffered from the Great Panic, and places like the Getty where looted and abandoned to nature.
