The RhinoRUNNER originally developed as a VIP transport for Coalition forces in Iraq proved useful in cleanup operations in the post war continental US.

A survivor's painting of the fall of Mumbai, India based on his memories of the chaotic evacuation of the city. The infecteds are depicted as swarming from the direction of Bora Bazar and Mumbai Harbor, devouring civilians that tried to escape via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station. The painter managed to escape the fallen city to Navi Mumbai in the mainland, where he later fled to the sea after much of Maharashtra state fell to the infection.



Another survivor's painting of the siege of St. Petersburg, Russia. The anonymous painter, who was one of the refugees that were sheltered in the temporary Russian military base in the Catherine Palace, managed to capture the moment when the last line of defence was overrun with huge casualties among the refugees and military. She successfully escaped the city via the old Russian cruiser the Aurora, that made it to the Atlantic.

A survivor marvelled at the apocalyptic view of downtown Berlin with some burning buildings in the distance after the authorities failed to contain the spread of the virus in the city and its metropolitan area, 2 months after the start of Great Panic in Europe. Germany lost much of its populated areas to the pandemic, and was one of the hard hit European countries.

A group of Thai survivors were scavenging for supplies in an abandoned hospital in Bangkok, after most of mainland Thailand was overrun. During the war, the Thai government and royal family were forced to flee aboard an aircraft carrier, while surviving members of the military tried to pull up a defensive perimeter at the Kra Isthmus and sections of the northern mountains.

An aerial view of Fort Belgica in the Moluccas, Indonesia. Built by the Dutch in the 17th century as part of the fortification system at the spice-producing region of Banda Islands, the fort gave a significant contribution to the defence and later, as a safe haven for the residents of Banda Neira from zombie attacks until the Indonesian authorities managed to pacify this part of the Moluccas during its stabilization program of the safe zone.

Maori warriors in Auckland during WWZ, during the events of World War Z, New Zealand escaped the worst of the apocalypse, due to it's remoteness and low population. However, when the apocalypse reached New Zealand, a group of a few hundred native Maori cleared all of Auckland of zombies just by using traditional clubs and war axes.

ADF soldiers are firing bow and arrow in Tasmania stonghold island, the Australian government, along with elements of the Australian army and a select number of high-importance citizens, decamped to the island state of Tasmania. There was some unrest when the federal government announced that the entire island was to become federal land and statehood was removed, but the Tasmanians quickly saw the benefits of having the government based there. Steps were taken to reinforce the island's borders, naval patrols were organised and the Army began a system of ensuring that there was no infection on the island.

 

Pre-War photo of International Space Station (ISS),During World War Z, many last-ditch survival radio stations such as "Radio Free Earth" helped save millions of lives, or at least tried to. The efforts of these men and women would not have been possible without The ISS, which helped keep essential and possibly some of the more casual satellites up in orbit for continued human use.

In the beginning of the war, the ISS crew was divided into two groups - those who would go back to Earth and those who would stay. It was a hard decision, but, there simply was not enough time and space to send all the crew back to Earth. The remaining three stayed up there and "listened to the same old records, read books, and repaired satellites." They said they had only a few more years with the supplies they had. Eventually, they were able to come into contact with the Chinese Space Station, which was divided between the Rebels and Loyalists. They arrive to find one of them dead and the escape pod jettisoned. Presuming he was the Rebel, they say their respects, and scavenged needed parts.

The scavenged supplies allowed them to survive for several more years, until a rescue mission by a private company from the United States was able to reach them. However, they had spend too many years in space, and particularly, had knowingly made far too many EVA repair missions outside the station in space suits which did not adequately shield them from cosmic radiation. All three suffered from severe bone degradation and cancer once they returned to Earth. The last of the three managed to live until ten years after the end of the war, long enough to give an interview to the author of World War Z, before succumbing to his illnesses days later. He stated that all three astronauts knew the sacrifice they were making and that it would eventually kill them, but that they were willing to pay that price in order to save countless lives by keeping the satellite network operational in order to assist Earth-bound militaries.
