Hotel staff affiliated with the French Resistance preparing to attack Milice officials at a function, Lyon, 1955. The corpses on the ground were Petainist sympathizers among the cooking staff were were killed with silenced pistols before the attack itself took place. Many French hotels were the site of attacks on German and French collaborator officials, a fact that these hotels have happily embraced as part of their history.

A female Vietnamese fighter during an attack on Chinese positions near Hanoi, 1966. The struggle to expel Chinese forces did much to further increase the bolstered status of women in Vietnamese society. The Communist Party of Vietnam had implemented numerous policies to advance gender equality in the country upon taking power, but had met with a great deal of resistance. The ten year war with China helped ensure that these reforms would be set in stone, as the large role Vietnamese women played both behind and on the front lines ensured the support of the general public once the war was over. Women who had claimed a large number of combat kills or displayed noteworthy tactic skill were given the nickname "Tigress" in the Vietnamese press.

A Sikorsky R-4 operated by the OSS in Burma to supply Chinese forces against the Japanese. The R-4 was one of the earliest models of tilt-rotor aircraft that saw limited use in World War II. After the war, helicopters would be fielded by majority of military powers around the world.

A kvass (a drink made from black bread) vendor in vladivostok selling her drink to a thirsty customer during the summer, circa 1960s. Kvass alongside western beverages like coca cola and root beer are extremely popular in the russian republic especially in the summer where vendors sell their drink in these large tanks alongside stuff like grilled sausage, fried pierogi, chebureki, chips and many more

Organization Todt Hauptfuhrer Karl Petzold before a celebration in Hamburg, 1952. Petzold made millions selling Red Army POWs to German companies during the late 1940s, with Hoesch AG, Porche and Siemens being well known repeat customers of his. These connections have him a disproportionate amount of power within the Organization Todt for a man of his rank.

Joseph Goebbels at OKW after hearing of the Israeli victory over the German-backed Syrian invasion. According to the spoken and written testimony of those present that morning, Goebbels came to OKW's headquarters at seven thirty upon being informed of the Israeli victory through a telegram he read over breakfast. The Reichminister lambasted the commanders charged with overseeing the Syrian's efforts in a tirade that came to be the stuff of legend. A young sentry by the name of Reinhold Grunspan, interviewed by ZDF, said that 'it was if a banshee suddenly appeared in the complex, shrieking and raving.'

IDF Chief of Staff Moshe Dayan, 1953. Dayan commanded the forces that repelled four Syrian divisions and a German paratrooper assault at Nazareth. He spent the 1950s preparing the Israeli military for a possible confrontation with the forces of the Reich proper, not believing that they'd use the Syrians in a second attempt to wipe out the Jewish state. Marshal Erwin Rommel spoke highly of the Israeli general during the Reich's final years and after the fall of the Nazi regime. When asked to explain why in an interview with Berliner Morgenpost three years after the Reich fell, Rommel said 'repelling the Syrians was one thing, forcing the Afrika Korps back was considered impossible. But he knew the consequences of such a defeat and would strive to accomplish the impossible, for his people and his god would demand no less." The two met in Istanbul in 1961.

US Marines hiking along a mountainside in Kangwon, Korea, 1954. The US military helped train a large amount of Korea's soldiers during the 1950s in an attempt to supplant Japanese military doctrines and traditions. Korean military leaders would later adapt the training framework to be more relevant to the strategic position of the Korean Peninsula. General Choe Kwang strongly and successfully pushed for a defensive strategy dubbed 'Fortress Korea' which emphasized the creation of underground armories, storehouses as well as a solid network of AA guns and fighter-bombers. The strategy was devised on the basis of a potential war with China.

General Marcos Perez Jimenez, Venezuela's military dictator from 1948-1952. His policies caused concern among Toronto Accord leadership that Venezuela could become a jumping off point for pro-German activity in Latin America. Perez was overthrown in 1952 by a civilian uprising that saw democracy return to Venezuela and he fled to Italy before he could be arrested. Romulo Betancourt, the 'father of Venezuelan Democracy' took over as president and had applied for observer status in the Toronto Accord.

Portuguese-Mozambiquan troops parading through Portuguese-controlled Goa. 1952. The internal turmoil that consumed India following its independence from Britain motivated the Salazar regime to fortify its colony in India. Soldiers from Portugal proper as well as its other colonial territories flooded into Goa, heavily fortifying the border with the rest of India with landmines and pillboxes as well as whatever AA guns could be provided.

Map of the world in a Thousand Week Riech timeline in 1966 where Joseph Goebbels becomes Führer of Germany and goes on the warpath, declaring 'Total War' on all the enemies of the Greater Germanic Reich and engaging in a new series of millitary conquests. At this point, the Toronto Accord is on its last legs with the American and British government in exile.

Map of the world in a Thousand Week Riech timeline in 1965 where the SS wins and the German Civil War, Heinrich Himmler becomes Führer of Germany, establishes SS-Ordenstaat Germania, and goes on the warpath, and engaging in a new series of millitary conquests on behalf of the Waffen SS, ending with a conquest of Great Britain and Iceland and a armsitice with the rest of the Toronto Accord. This is the most dystopic and hellish possible future for the world of Thousand Week Reich.

There is no hope under the Black Sun.

A teenage girl in suburban Munich, 1986. The first generation born after the fall of the Reich had interests and beliefs vastly different from their parents, showing an almost instinctual distrust of those who expected obedience without justification and a vehement hatred of the regime which many of their parents served. Young people of this generation greatly enjoyed art forms that the former regime would've considered degenerate such as metal, synth wave and contemporary R&B.

A Hitler Youth member in Rostock, 1951. Hitler's demise kicked off a quasi civil war within the organization, as the sons of Wehrmacht and SS personnel began fighting each other more and more as the Reich began its collapse.

Shanghai composer Li Jinhui, 1954. Despite being born in the 1890s, the famous musician had no issue with rock, jazz and other genres coming into China over the course of the 1950s and 1960s. This earned him the respect of younger Chinese who struggled against the 'cultural purity' laws that the Kuomintang had instituted until the 1970s. In turn, Li publicly criticized the White Terror and the KMT's constant wars and their effects on the younger generation. Though he did not live to see it, his works inspired both Cantopop and Mandopop.

A lieutenant in the IJN's Jakarta headquarters, 1944. Owing to Japan's need for Indonesian oil, the Dutch East Indies campaign was one of the most intense of the Pacific War. Both Japanese and collaborator forces fought ferociously to throw back the Americans from the city. The battle for Jakarta took three bitter weeks before the final Japanese command posts were overrun.

A slum in Havana, 1948. Photos such as these were part of a large media campaign by the victorious democratic movement to highlight the corruption of the Batista regime and highlight the economic situation of the Cuban people. Part of their economic reforms redirected profits from casinos into the national education budget as well as to provide funds for the construction of new houses. The bank accounts of Batista's cronies were also emptied in order to provided much needed funds for civic works programs. By the end of the 1950s, the Cuban government had achieved many of its goals regarding economic buildup and improvements to quality of life.

Soldiers and officers of the Hlinka Guard in an underground command complex near Bratislava, 1955. The country's fascist government began creating underground command centers and depots in the early 1950s in an attempt to limit available targets for insurgents. This complex was seized by Slovak resistance fighters three years later.

Nigerian soldiers of the West Indian Divisions with Indian soldiers before the recapture of Hong Kong, 1945. A large number of Nigeria's military leaders in the lead up to independence had their baptism of fire during the Pacific War, with an estimated 7,000 Nigerians losing their lives during the conflict. The country's proximity to the fascist controlled portions of Africa led to Nigeria maintaining a large standing military until the fall of Fascist Italy.

Farmers walking through the streets of Nanchang during a general strike against the KMT government's stranglehold on power, 1970. In the foreground of the image is an ROCA corporal by the name of Wei Chung-Ting who joined in the protest march. Wei was arrested by military police shortly after and sent to a political prison in the mountains of Anhui province for nearly a year before domestic and international pressure forced the Nanjing government to release him.

Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Hossein Fatemi in New York City, 1954. Hossein is remembered by Iranians as "the Young Helmsman" for helping ensure that Iran safely navigated relations with the Greater German Reich, the Toronto Accord, Turkestan, India and Pakistan. The presence of the Reichskomissariate Kaukasus and Turkestan on Iran's northern border as well the tumultuous Indian subcontinent made Iran's geopolitical position extremely tenuous. Hossein, and by extension Mossadegh, had to play an extremely precise balancing act to preserve Iran's neutrality. Hossein is considered one of the greatest intention statesmen of the 20th century for his achievements.

Japanese soldiers and sailors captured by ROCA troops being held near Linyi in Shandong Province, 1945. The Japanese attempted to evacuate their forces from mainland China using the major ports of its eastern seaboard but these escape attempts were largely foiled by Chinese military and resistance forces.

The cook of a U-boat docked in Rostok upon being informed of Toronto Accord forces capturing Hamburg, 1961. The Kriegsmarine was considered something of a wild card during the planning of Operation Flood owing to their seeming disinterest in allying with the SS. However, German naval forces were heavily involved in the defense of Germany's port cities.
