Tuscaloosa following the bombing of the city.

Possible one of the most controversial actions of the Second Great War and carried out by the Union. Once the State Capital of Alabama Tuscaloosa as well as the home of the University of Alabama and have long since become an regional center of industry, commerce, education and more.

For this it would become the site of a massive air raid in ealry 1944 by the Union Air Force dropping tons and tons and tons more high explosives and incendiaries bombs over the Druid City, and killing countless civilians, both locals and refugees fleeing the Union forces.

Tuscaloosa was left a smothering ruined as a result by the end of the war and remains a controversially action. It been said even Patton himself cried, and fearful the rest of Alabama would suffer the same fate as Tuscaloosa and play a role in his eventual surrender to the USA.

Even those in the United States at the time had qualms, or mixed-rections to the firebombing, with those calling the deed while others defended the act, calling it necessary to break the remaining Confederate moral as well as vengeance for previous air raids by the South.
Dresden-analogue?

General Anthony McAuliffe, commander of the 1st Airbourne Division that dropped on Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge . However due to several pilot mishaps a full 3rd of his men dropped even further behind confederate lines into north Georgia, specifically the town of Chickamauga. They were able to seize the town from surprised militia and held it for the two weeks it took for their relief. The Confederate surrender offer he received was turned down with a one word reply NUTS. the Confederate officer , confused, asked him to clarify his answer to which a subordinate responded " General doesn't like to cuss but he means go fuck yourself"

Land of Mine is a 2015 movie about a group of Confederate prisoners of war who work to diffuse land minds along the shores of Lake Erie after the Second Great War. It is estimated that over two thousand Confederate soldiers, including numerous teenagers, against the Geneva Conventions, removed mines, nearly half of them being either killed or wounded. The removal was part of a controversial agreement between the US General Staff and the state governments of Ohio and Pennsylvania, under which Confederate soldiers with experience in defusing mines would be in charge of clearing the mine fields.

A pre-war photograph of Fort William Rufus, circa 1914.

In 1903, the British Army would authorize the construction of a large coastal defense installation for the defense of the Island of Oahu and it's strategic Pearl Harbor Naval Base. In 1905, the construction of what would eventually become Fort William Rufus would begin and it would be operational by the end of the decade. The fortress was equipped with four BL 12-inch Mark X naval guns in two twin turrets, as well as two pairs of 6 inch guns in casemates on the sides of the fort and two 3-inch anti-aircraft weapons. The fort also featured a wooden barracks on it's roof as well as an observation mast and a crane to lift supplies onto the fort. The actual structure of the fortification was protected by thick concrete with steel reinforcing, thus lending the fort it's nickname of the Concrete Battleship. The fort at any one time could up to 240 enlisted men and officers from the British Army's Royal Hawaiian Artillery Corps, and came equipped plotting rooms, power generators, and a ammunition magazine.

Following the fall of Oahu to Union Forces in the autumn of the 1914, Fort William Rufus was the final British holdout in the entirety of the Hawaiian Islands. And for weeks, was under siege by Union Army, Marine, and Naval forces following the Fort's commanding officer's refusal to accept Admiral Dewey's offer to surrender. On the night of November 8th, 1914, a landing party of Marines, sailors, and combat engineers would successfully land on the fort's rear with the support of the protected cruiser USS Albany. In which they would then proceed to pour a volatile mixture of diesel oil and gasoline down into the fort's ventilation system before throwing explosives down into them before withdrawing. The fort was then destroyed in a massive explosion that was heard across much of the Hawaiian Archipelago and would create a large mushroom cloud.

When I read that in the books I was always like "wtf could this possibly look like?" And there we are

I believe that the idea was based off of the American version that was built in the Philippines before WWII. It was destroyed much in the same manner when the US was liberating the islands

did anyone watched Little Nicky in TL-191 Version of Little Nicky what if Satan Shoved a Pineapple up on Featherston's ass XD will be a defining moment.

Tony Bricker - President of the United States (S-IL) from 1997 to 2005.
He was responsible for the Socialist Party's shift to the centre under the "New Socialism" brand and American involvement in the Ottoman Wars. He attempted to run for a third term in 2004 but was defeated by centrist Democrat David Cavendish.
Is this actually tony Blair or just using his picture. Either way he sickens me

Here's two young Yanks.
The first one, after the war and seeing the devastating effects of the war on his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, realized that what the world needs more than anything is peace.
The second one went on to become a famous musician.

(Anyone who could actually name these two people gets 30 points.)
Know I'm late to the party, but Fred Rogers up top and Paul Simon below.

Images from the Irish Civil War (1918-1919) fought between Conservative and Socialist Factions , with Germany and the US tepidly supporting each. De Valara lead the conservatives while James Connolly the Socialists, with Michael Collins declaring his neutrality. As far as post GW conflicts go, it was rather bloodless and quick and upon the Ulster rebellion both sides signed a treaty that would lead to the Fianna Fail representing the more conservative land owners and Catholic Church and Sinn Fein representing the working class , some disaffected Protestants , and the more Hardline republican elements

A thumbnail portrait found online of Leo Kanner, Austro-Hungarian born psychologist. He was known for studies in the US including at Johns Hopkins University, where he began to study children exhibiting a pattern of unusual symptoms. He identified these symptoms as "autism", from the Greek root "auto" meaning self, as these children seemed withdrawn.

(ITTL, I couldn't identify the site, because Jimmy Wales was born in Huntsville, AL in 1966, so it's always possible his father was killed during the Second Great War, and because his mom bought a set of encyclopedias and that's what got him interested. Realizing that almost 100 years after the POD the idea that the same person would make the same split-second decision they did IOTL would be pretty ASB.)
(Also, this guy was a real person who really made those discoveries at Johns Hopkins. Yes I realize that with an 1862 POD he might not even be born yet alone make the same discoveries, but people have been posting pictures of Trump, Obama, pop stars, etc. that have not been butterflied.)
