The bombed-out remains of the city of Decatur, Illinois following an air raid on the city by the Confederate Air Force, circa September 1st, 1941.

On August 28th, 1941, a large formation of 64 A-37 Falcon bombers with some fighter escort would launch an air raid against the city of Decatur, which was home to several factories such as a Catapillar Tractor plant. The city likewise had no anti-aircraft defenses or USAF fighter units in the vicinity and was vulnerable. At around noon, the Confederate raiders would show up, in which the air raid sirens would sound, warning the city's citizens of the imminent attack. For many, the sirens would be the last thing that they would ever hear in their lives. Within a matter of minutes, the Confederate bombers would release their bombs, in which many fell onto the residential areas of Decatur. After the bombers left, the city's emergency services and civil defense would begin a frantic effort to rescue trapped survivors and to locate the dead, which would last for a few days. When the dust finally settled, a total of 913 people out of the city's 59,305 were killed by the Confederate bombs, with an additional 1,856 injured, and 24 missing. The Union Media and Government were rather quick to denounce the Confederacy for this act against humanity, in which this raid would be quickly dubbed, "the American Guernica."

His father was a high ranking Freedom Party Guardsman who ran a small satellite camp for politicals ( mostly Texas Germans) but he overheard many things about the Population Reduction that stuck with him for life but all his friends were FPG brats so he kept his mouth shut, even after his father was imprisoned and Texas became a Republic again. He became active in the left of Texas politics during his teen years ( the Hands Up for Cuban Statehood Committee) and was seen as a bit of a loon, but well meaning.

His life took a hard turn into notoriety when I'm November 1963 Congressman John Kennedy, on a state visit to the Republic , was shot by Neo Freedomite JD Tippit. Oswald acted quickly and was able to disarm the assassin and even stopped the would be assassin from being killed by the crowd , heard yelling " STOP STOP HES JUST A PATSY!" Kennedy would survive with only a minor flesh wound but is rumored to have had some choice words with Texas President Lyndon B Johnson about the defreedomization process

In my mind the oldest Kennedy probably still died In a stupid accident, JFK becomes the heir and Bobby probably thinks about becoming a priest , decides against it , and then becomes a crusader against the abuses of the Catholic church, particularly the priesthood.

For this it would become the site of a massive air raid in ealry 1944 by the Union Air Force dropping tons and tons and tons more high explosives and incendiaries bombs over the Druid City, and killing countless civilians, both locals and refugees fleeing the Union forces.

Tuscaloosa was left a smothering ruined as a result by the end of the war and remains a controversially action. It been said even Patton himself cried, and fearful the rest of Alabama would suffer the same fate as Tuscaloosa and play a role in his eventual surrender to the USA.

Even those in the United States at the time had qualms, or mixed-rections to the firebombing, with those calling the deed while others defended the act, calling it necessary to break the remaining Confederate moral as well as vengeance for previous air raids by the South.

It was Tuscaloosa, but it moved to Montgomery later on.
