Hapsburg, you gotten really good with the paint of your future-german yype scenario. Why don't you make a TL out of it, it sounds quite interesting.
He has. There is a link in his sig.
What he said.
Anyway...here's another CGU-era picture. One I made a while ago, and have recently edited to look more organic...
A view of the central front gates of the
Menschheithauptstadt München c.6315, or about three years after the Union victory in the Zaaroft Wars.
Over the centuries, the city of Munich expanded to become the largest metropolitan area on Earth, home to nearly half a billion people. The smaller, original city with its 18th and 19th century palaces and monuments became known as Old Munich. The rest of the massive sprawling city came to house the centre of government for the Terran Empire and the subsequent Central Galactic Union.
Dominating the skyline is the gigantic statue of Dictator Maximilian, four times the height of the Statue of Liberty in New York. Its stability at this size was achieved by ultralight-weight yet incredibly durable metals which served as an interior superstructure. The bulk of the statue itself is made from solid blocks of white limestone. The statue's right hand is aimed up to the sky, pointed out to the stars as if to say, "There, mankind, is where thy destiny lay!" The statue's base is made of rough-hewn granite coated in a solid layer of marble, which was first melted down, then applied like a paste and left to harden. Due to the massive weight and size of the structure, the entire statue and base is suspended above the ground by an antigravity emitter of unprecedented scale.
In the centre of the foreground of the picture, we see the Munich Gate, a massive triumphal arch some five times the size of the Berlin Gate, with a giant quadriga statue, with a statue depicting Dictator Maximilian in the seat of the chariot. In front of the main gate is the Volksstraße, a long avenue lined with triumphal arches and smaller statues, as well as massive hanging banners of the CGU national flag- the White-Green-Blue triband. The Volksstraße leads up to the the massive domed Reich Government building, containing the meeting chambers of the Houses of the Reichstag, the Supreme Courtroom, and the Reich Chancellery. The building itself is a gigantic amphitheatrical structure, and the dome is so large that on warm summer days, the condensation from the breath of the multitudes of people within creates an ambient mist.
Not too far away, perched on a bluff, known as Munich's acropolis, sits the domed Dictatorial Palace, the personal residency of the Dictator. Although the Reich Chancellery offices make up the official centre of the executive government, the large meeting halls in the Palace acts as the practical centre of administration for the Union.
