Test trailer for the 1985 Disney classic animated film, “MEDUSA” (the death scene of Medusa would be cut out before releasing the trailer to the public). It takes a different approach to the Ancient Greek myth of the infamous Gorgon with the movie being more of a tragedy centred around Medusa, who for a good portion of the film is a child only for there to be a jump to years later when she is an adult. The film would also have her dying centuries after she did in the myth.​

It is also noted for its darkness with the film not shying away from violence as well as having a fair bit of blood, death, and plenty of sad scenes but also having some happy/sweet or neutral scenes as well. Additionally there were no voices for the characters in the trailer nor in the opening fourteen minutes. It saw a huge divergence for the typical Disney animation and character design with it more resembling the art style of ancient Greece rather than the typical Disney style.

This was a trend that would continue with future animated feature films more geared towards adults and teens then children such as “Mulan”, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, and “Pocahontas”. Both the trailer and the beginning of the film would actually use limited animation of the characters making it look more like a comic book in motion rather than a film, this was done for more emotional effect.
