Does Blockbuster also buy out Redbox when they come out?

Kingdom of the Sun poster.jpg

A poster for the 2000 animated film Kingdom of the Sun. It was released in December 2000 as Walt Disney Animated Feature's 40th film (the film was originally suppose to be release in Summer 2000, but was pushed back half a year due to production troubles).

The film is about a greedy, and selfish emperor (voiced by David Spade) who finds a peasant (voiced by Owen Wilson) who looks just like him; the emperor swaps places with the peasant to escape his boring life and have fun (similar to the novel The Prince and the Pauper. by Mark Twain) However, the villainous witch Yzma (voiced by Eartha Kitt) has plans to summon Supay (the evil god of death), and destroy the sun so that she may become young and beautiful forever (the sun gives her wrinkles, so she surmises that living in a world of darkness would prevent her from aging). Discovering the switch between the prince and the peasant, Yzma turns the real emperor into a llama and threatens to reveal the pauper's identity unless he obeys her. During his time as the emperor acts as a puppet to Yzma, the pauper falls in love with the emperor's soon to be fiancé Nina who thinks he is the emperor that has changed his ways. Meanwhile, the emperor-llama learns humility in his new form and even comes to love a female llama-herder named Mata (voiced by Laura Prepon). Together, the girl and the llama set out to undo the witch's plans.

The soundtrack to the film was done by the rock band Sting.

When the film was release, it gained a mixed reputation from critics and audiences. They praised the animation, soundtrack and vocal performances, but felt the fims wasn't as good as the other Disney movies released through the 1990s. The movie also under-preformed at the box office, barley making a profit. However, the film would have very good video and DVD sales and would become a hit when it began airing on cable (Starz, Disney Channel, ABC and Toon Disney).

Why was tour infamous?
Well I'm gonna go into it more on the Ninth Revolution thread but this is based on a thread I saw earlier about somehow getting Paul and George to have a stable writing partnership and friendship, which leads to George getting more songs on Get Back or Let It Be or whichever one they called it. Anyways, John still quitted in 1969 but they continued on without him, always leaving a door open for him. Basically he'll be the Neil Young to their Crosby, Stills, & Nash. It's infamous because this was his first tour as an official member of the band again and the first tour of the original four since 1966. So it's kind of their comeback tour.

Here's the thread

Elvis Presley pictured singing in what most fans call his comeback, 1978's Grease. In the movie, he appears as Frenchy's guardian "Teen Angel" who gives her a reality check on the situation she was in, just like he gave himself back in 1976.

He had been asked to star with Barbara Streisand in A Star Is Born, he had expressed interest in joining the film, but his manager at the time Colonel Tom Parker, asked for a substantial amount of money and top billing for him, which they obviously passed on. This greatly angered Elvis, as his manager had just made him pass on what could've been a great comeback movie for him.

One day he marched into the Colonel's office with a team of lawyers and told him he was fired, the Colonel obviously protested, and threatened to take legal action against him, which Elvis was already ready for. So he brought his status as an illegal immigrant up, which he can use against him. He stepped down, and was fired.

He later killed himself in a dingy trailer outside of Las Vegas in 1979, leaving millions owed in gambling debts.

Elvis however, had just gotten the comeback he wanted, albiet not what he expected. Throughout the last couple of years he had been losing weight, working on his drug addictions, and really just working on himself. But in 1978, he had been asked by Robert Stigward to make a cameo in a movie that he was working on... Grease. This was just the movie for him, and not so long later, he had filmed the scene, recorded the song, and now was waiting for the release.

When it was released, it was a triumph for him, introducing him to a new generation of fans. He had to somehow make this success worth something, so he kept on working, cameoing in another movie the Blues Brothers, where he played a pentecostal preacher, who was had a singing duel with other preacher just across the street, played by James Brown. He was also amused to see that his song Jailhouse Rock was used in the ending of the film.

During 1980, Queen frontman Freddie Mercury gifted him a song, a song which would become his most successful single in years.
