Photograph of Orleans, capital of the titular Duchy (circa 2018). Despite its precarious position in the middle of what was once France, the influx of trade, tourism and industry have allowed this beacon of civilization to once more shine through.

Its very existence, however, has also thrown a proverbial wrench into proposals for a reunited French Republic, with the old "Royalist question" once more out in the open.

AFP checkpoint near the boundary of Restricted Zone 02, surrounding what was once Subic Naval Base, in Central Luzon (circa 2019). Although Filipino authorities have provided incentives for resettlement since 2003, the vicinity remains sparsely populated, further exasperated by superstitious fears involving those who died during Doomsday.

1978 photo showing the blasting that was done to demolish the cliffs and old, under-sea iron ore mines, before the Flamanville (France, Normandy) reactors were built. the 1983 war stopped the construction of the two nuclear reactors, expected to be put into service in 1986.
