Irish soldiers on patrol after Doomsday. Although the Republic of Ireland was not hit during Doomday due to its neutrality, the island of Eire suffered one hit on the British side of Belfast. This caused refugees from Northern Ireland to flood into the southern Republic, forcing the Irish government to deploy the military to keep refugees in check and restore order and panic caused by the sudden nuclear war.

Refugee planes land in Beirut on September 26, 1983. Several planes made emergency landings wherever possible. Countless were not so fortunate, with some crashing killing everyone onboard and some colliding with each other on the ground as runways became full.
