Screencaps from the 1982 fantasy film the Dark Crystal. Copies of the actual film were held in storage in several locations in Australian and New Zealand when Doomsday occurred, largely unused and in excellent condition. In 2012, the movie was re-released across the entire ANZC to celebrate it's 30th Anniversary. It was a huge hit, not only with former American refugees and their families, but with a new generation of young Commonwealth citizens who fell in love with what many consider to be Jim Henson's masterpiece.

In recent years, several prosperous North American nations such as Vermont, the Republic of Superior, Virginia, the Toledo Confederation, Niagara Falls, Susquehanna, Texas, Victoria, Florida, and the entire North American Union have began showing copies of the film in their respective cinemas or public entertainment centres. The movie has been universally praised in all of these states, and it currently continues to air in other American or Canadian survivor states, gaining a greater cult following with each year.

Rumors of an Japanese anime being developed for 2024 release have been cicurated recently, which would serve as a prequal series to the original film.

The current logo of Hungry Jacks. Currently the number 1 fast food chain in the ANZC Hungry Jacks has become a staple of fast food and pop cultural. Unlike other fast food companies Hungry Jacks was already autonomous from both the Burger King brand and its parent company allowing it to weather the days of post 1983 better than most other corporations. Aside from the ANZC it operates in South America, Japan, New Britain and the Various surviver nations in North America, there are plans to expand into Europe starting with Scandinavia and North Germany.

Yes, Pizza Hut had been in Australia since 1970 and went through the typical change in management that all American companies went threw after the loss of their headquarters in America.

A Delta Mini Cruiser of the Philippine Army. Manufactured locally from Delta Motors Corporation based in Manila, many of these light utility vehicles have been sold to neighboring countries both in civilian and military use. The Commonwealth Armed Forces has considered purchasing over 100 units of the Delta Mini Cruiser for field testing in the outback.

(OOC: Delta Motors Company became defunct in 1984 in OTL. They were a local distributor of Toyota in the Philippines. It is possible Doomsday butterflies its defunct as the need for local automobile industry is high on demand due to Doomsday affecting the automobile industry of South Korea, Japan, Europe, and the USA.)

I’d be curious as to how the apocalyptic nature of The Stand or The Deadzone would resonate in this world.

There may not be much demand for apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic stories.

Well The Dead Zone book was released in 1979, the film whilst the film was released on October 21st 1983. The Stand book was released in 1978, and the miniseries was made in 1994. I can still see some of these books resonating with survivors.

A lot of people in areas hit badly by Doomsday, particularly those who had to fend off crazy warlord types themselves might find something oddly therapeutic about The Stand’s story.

Nicaraguan special force parade, following Doomsday, the socialist-led country has to endure a three-way war between Pro-US Contras, various local organizations and Costa Rica for the control of Guanacaste province. a 2004 referundum was a victory for Nicaragua as Guanacaste choose to remain a part of the country.
