Phoney war question

I have a question about this part of the war. Would there be a period during this time (after poand before denmark) that the war would fizzle out or was it inevitable. Thanks in advance.

Well, I've said this before, Poland wasn't a sudden provocation, it was the last straw. Once the Germans invade poland war with the allies is all but impossible.

It's highly unlikely for the war to fizzle out. The Nazis had made it abundantly clear that they were a pack of thugs who made treaties to tear them up in order to advance their European domination. Why make another treaty to Germany's advantage, meaning that Germany would have been allowed to destroy a second free nation and continue with its rampant re-armamament? It wasn't like Britain and France realised how quickly they would be knocked out in the west.

I think the best chance might be to have Halder and Beck kill Hitler, but I see no particular reason why this would isnpire the Entente to make peace.

Did the western front in WW1 fizzle out after trench warfare began in 1915?
