WI General Stilwell had become a Field Marshal of the Philippine Army in 1936, instead of General MacArthur? How would the Philippine military perform with Vinegar Joe at the helm?
There would be tremendous butterflies with that POD... with no martial law era.... and it could be continued as an alternate timeline to 2010... Interested?
How about a more popular POD especially for Filipinos around here...
What if President Marcos was assassinated or died through a health problem in 1966? I don't know about pro-Marcos people here but I'm compensating the death of Ferdinand Marcos with the positive rise into political prominence of Imelda Marcos... I plan of having her as Senate President and then make her ran as president for the Nacionalista ticket but will loss to Ninoy Aquino, who is either an incumbent or not, during the 1970's...
The 1935 constitution is going to be the oldest existing constitution in Asia, but with amendments through the decades, like those of the early 1970's, in line with the many qualms of politicians and the youth movement in the late 1960's...
The Philippines is going to be on its 18th president most likely in TTL's 2010...
HYPOTHETICAL LIST...
Ferdinand Marcos 1965-1966
his vice- president (Fernando Lopez?) 1966-1969
Sergio Osmena Jr. 1969-1973, 1973-1976 (only given three years by the amendments)
A Nacionalista president 1976-1982
so on and so forth
