So here's a little thought I've been having.
In the mid 1290s, tensions between England and France were quite high, there were issues over Gascony, Scotland and various other things. A planned English campaign into France was averted due to a Welsh rebellion in 1294, but there would be other issues with France later on in the decade. What I am wondering is, in a scenario where the troubles in Scotland and Wales are still happening, what would happen in France and elsewhere, should Philip IV of France die in 1294. Let's say he dies from a fever, and his son Louis ascends the throne, what happens next?
