Alright, so head's up, I might have to change a couple things in the opening (meaning that Vilnius will be part of Lithuania, and Lithuania will not be a part of the United Baltic Duchy). I'll edit this once school gets out for a short vacation Wednesday-ish, and with it also some updates (including possibly a map of Poland and the Baltics?)

Wow, the French must be beyond enraged and in full paranoia...they will not be in speaking term with the British and the americans; OTL they wanted Germany down because they were basically faced her alone as both London and Washington refused to give assurance about French security.
Here they are permitted to absorb Austria and the Sudetenland, and maybe even Danzing, so basically Poland is now Berlin bitch and even the Czech need to tread very carefully as they don't have any natural defense against German aggression...ehm sorry i mean: strong diplomatic measure.
The term of 'Mutilated Victory' will born in Paris instead of Italy ITTL and will burn with the power of a thousands suns, not considering that even Belgium will not be happy

Perhaps the French are thrown a bone regarding permanent fortifications close to France and/or a limited size to the German armed forces. They'd still be outraged, of course.

France will be hurt badly economically, despite reparations, as they will feel it essential to build up their army and air force. The Washington Treaty will seem very useful to them; they can't afford battleships currently. The naval treaty structure will get dicey with Germany in the mix--very dicey.

To the good--Mackensen class large cruisers :) Ersatz York class Large cruisers!
Another issue--was there a Great Scuttle in Scappa Flow? If not, I'm sure that a lot of the ships got taken as reparations--who got them?

Wow, happy to see some people on here! Let's see...

I guess that is fair, and is also probably a problem. I'm going to admit, I'm basing this off of an old alternate history idea I've had, so it won't be the... most accurate. I guess a good level of comparison would be something like Kaiserreich: mostly realistic, but with some less likely things occurring as well. That being said, France is definitely going to experiment with the extremes, especially when the socialists attempt to take over Germany.

Again, fair enough. I'll decide the precise borders of Germany soon, so it might just be Austria, or something to that affect. Additionally, it is possible that the Little Entente is still created between the Balkan States, leading to defense measures on both sides of Germany.

Definitely.

Sounds about right.

Yeah, the German Army will definitely be limited. Of course, secret rearmament will still occur, but in theory the Allies will try to ensure Poland is still able to fend off Germany with some aide, I suppose. Sorry if that seems impossible, I'll work on refining this stuff as time goes on!

The events of Scapa Flow do occur, and the ships captured probably went to France, based off of how pissed they ought to be.

Thanks so much for the feedback, guys! It means a lot!

Is Germany allowed to build a limited number of new ships? Mackensens and Ersatz Yorks are fine ships, and if they make up the bulk of the High Seas Fleet, the face of the next generation of battleships will be substantially different--higher speeds will be needed.

I'd imagine so, most likely. I'm not too well-versed on naval stuff, so thanks for that!

The three Mackesens were in the works, and one Ersatz Yorck as well. The other 2 Ersatz Yorck;s were not even laid down, nor were the L-20 Alpha battleships. In short, at the time of the armistice, Germany had 4 large cruisers (battlecruisers) under construction, and two battleships. If everything interned at Scappa Flow was either scuttled or handed out as reparations, everything Germany still has is badly obsolete, so building these six ships would give Germany a small, modern fleet. The existing obsolete dreadnoughts would likely be scrapped as new ships are completed. Germany could even toss that out as a concession in treaty negotiations. Politicians would love it, naval experts would know that the older ships were obsolete.
