PG-13 rating never exists

Fifty Shades, Blue Valentine, Love and Other Drugs, Shame...
I know Fifty Shades was a big deal, don't really know about the others.

But thanks for the list. Apparently, there has been some films which attempted an erotic theme within the last five years.

Potential POD:

Beginning in early '70s, Hollywood rating system begins tilting toward giving PG or R for violence, but not so much nudity and sexuality? ?

(what had been PG for goodly amount of violence now more likely to be R, and what had been R for some bare breasts now more likely to be PG)

interesting reflection of the US psyche that the discussion of film ratings quickly becomes ' i can;t believe <film x > got such a low rate when there is nudity in it ' rather the discussion about violence / use of drugs , alcohol and tobacco / the use of bad langauge and how bad language is directed when used - i.e. the different between ' oh fuck' and ' you worthless fuck' / thematic components normalising discriminatory behaviour etc ...

possibly looking at differences in ratings between the US / Canada /Uk /Aus for the same fil mand how the rating decisions were made and any differences in the cut released to cinema / on 'video'
