PG-13 rating never exists

All Rounder

Gone Fishin'
In the early 1980s, there were complaints regarding the level of violence in films like Gremlins and The Temple of Doom, which were labeled as PG. As a result of these complaints, Steven Spielberg suggested to the MPAA that a rating between G and PG be created films similar to or on the level regarding violence as shown in The Temple of Doom and Gremlins.

But what if this didn't happen?

What if Steven Spielberg never sent this suggestion to the MPAA and the complaints simmered down? How could this affect the movie industry over the next 32 years?

All that really happens is that "G" is the "safe space" movies. Everything else is catch as catch can.

PG has more boobies, that's all. There are 70s flicks that are PG that show full blown sex.
Full frontal nudity in PG Logan's Run, too.

What I want to know, is how in wide world of sports, did _Andromeda Strain_ get 'G' in its initial release? It had nudity, as did _Planet of the Apes_ where you had a quick shot of the Chuckster's privates.

The ratings system might not be the clusterfuck that it is today, Where PG is what G should be, PG-13 is what PG should be, and R is everything form what PG-13 should be to what NC-17 should be.

with a simpler system of

G
PG
R

might be more room and NC-17 really takes off?

I have read that there's not room in the market for movies short of porn which try to be genuinely erotic and sexual ? ? ?

I feel like that would be like watching a movie with your parents when a sex scene comes on, except for the entire thing.
alright then, don't watch it with your parents. ;)

I guess there's the occasional movie whose theme is eroticism, but give me even three in the last five years!
