Peshwar Lancers Redux: India

In India further reforms would see the Indian Congress Party win 60 of the 600 seats in the lower house of Parliament. The other three Parties were the Conservative Party, Liberal Party and the emerging Labor Party. Currently labor had 40 seats, Conservatives 310 and Liberals 190.
Are the exile parties gaining support among the non-European population?

All three of the Political parties have made gains among the non-European population. The Conservative party and the Liberal Parties biggest gains have been in the Middle Class and in the EurAsian Community. The Labor Party and the Congress Party seem to be appealing to the same groups so they may tend to prevent each from make too much progress.

The Austro German Government purchased a building for its use in the British Capital until the new Embassy was built. meanwhile a team of engineers from the Indian Army arrived in Vienna to inspect the British Embassy and oversee repairs. The host government had cleaned it up and repaired any damage from the Fall. Still much had changed from 1870 and there would have to be some new changes such as a new communication system, heating improvements etc.

The British Foreign Minister was expected to fly to Hong Kong and meet with the Foreign Minister of the Empire of the Rising Sun to discuss matters that might continue to improve relations between them.
He was them to return home and two weeks latter fly to the Austo-German Empire to sign the treaty in Vienna.

King /Emperor George V had decided to send his son on a mission that would see him visit the Kingdom of Hawaii, There he would meet with the Hawaiian Prime Minister and if possible visit with the Hawaiian King. Next he would stop in Jamaica to show the people that their King had not forgotten them. From there he would fly to Great Britain, where he would inspect the reconstruction. He would see for himself how much progress had been made and then would fly to Vienna and visit with the rulers of the Austro-German Empire.

The Arrival of the Prince of Wales aboard a British Airways Blimp was a special occasion for the Kingdom of Hawaii. The Prince had been briefed on the Kingdom. It was the first stop on what was promising to be a long trip. The Prince was expected to be away from home for at least 2 months perhaps three. He would be staying a week in Hawaii and then off to Jamaica for a 4 day stay and then to Great Britain for nearly a month long stay. Then would see the trip to the Austro-German Empire.

The Prince of Wales was quite impressed with the warm welcome that he received at the Airport. He then attended a reception at the palace and spoke with the King. He expressed his fathers wishes and his own for the King's recovery. The King who was enjoying a period of good health smiled . The Deputy Prime Minister was with him and the attended the dance.
The next day he went aboard the new Hawaiian battleship which was one of the new Improved Polynesian class. There was a reception at the British Embassy. He again spent time with Miss Kamehameha and it was then that he found out who she was. Her father had been knighted by the crown ( actually he had received the title of Duke from the Hawaiian crown and a Knighthood from the British Crown)

The crown Prince went sight seeing with the Deputy Prime Minister of Hawaii. They stopped at her parents residence for Lunch. The crown prince enjoyed the meal and the conversation. He asked his host a number of questions regarding Hawaii and the world situation.
William made it clear that the opinions were his own and that it had been a while since he had been involved in receiving intelligence but he welcomed the opening that the moderates had provided in the Empire of the Rising Sun but he advised caution. As a member of the House of Lords in Hawaii he supported the governments modernization of the Military something that his daughter had some difficulty with. Perhaps it was because she had been trained as a doctor and wished to see more spent on medical care but it is the job of a responsible leader to balnce that need with the security needs of the country.
While one must show some restraint in going to was to have short changed the military leaving it unprepared for war is irresponsible and can lead to many more deaths..
The Prince thanked his host and left with their daughter and their aides. The next day it was time to depart for the next place to visit. he was seen off by the Prime Minster and the deputy Prime Minister and the former Ambassador to Hawaii and his replacement

The Prince of Wales arrival in Jamaica was one that saw massive crowds and cheers to see a member of the Royal Family. Several members of the administration were informed that they had been knighted by his father for their service to the crown. The Commander of the Royal Navy forces based in the colony was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral for recognition for his outstanding service in the defense of the crown colony.

The visit of a member of the British Royal Family to the Crown colony raised the morale of the people and started to reinforce the connection between the crown and the colony. The Prince made it a point of recommending sending a visit of a British capital ship to the colony.
From there after extending his stay to 6 days he flew on to the British Isles. As such he was the first member of the royal family to visit the Home islands since The Fall.

The Prince of Wales was greeted by General Ironsides . The General had been appointed as the Military governor of Great Britain. The General had a difficult task of restoring things. Parts of London had been restored including the Royal palace.
The General gave the Prince a guided tour of the city. Progress had been made included the restoration of some roads and rail lines.
The general pointed out that there had been a lot of new tree growth as a result of the small population.

The Prince of Wales was impressed at the progress that General Ironsides had made. Buckingham Palace was usable and there were a number of other buildings that were restored. The Prince took a trip northward on the country's operational rail line. At least two seaports were close to functioning . The Prince met some of the public including descendants of those that had remained in the island. Schools and hospitals had been built to help improve conditions..
The Pan Hawaiian Airways provided the movement of some critical supplies to the island.

After nearly a month of traveling around the British Isles and taking hundreds of pictures it was time for the Prince to move onto the final stop. But before he did he paid for A meal for all of the people working on the restoration of London. It was what the Americans would have called a cookout. He had arranged for food to be shipped first to Ireland and then to London. After a good meal the Prince left for Vienna.. The Prince of Wales was met at the air port by a Military band and 3 detachments of the Imperial Austro-German Military.Archduke Otto von Hapsburg was there to great him on behalf of the Hapsburg's and the Imperial Government.

Edward was impressed by the warm greeting that he received at the airfield. Captain von Trapp of the Royal and Imperial Austro-German Navy was quite impressed with the British Air Ship. The Captain had commanded one of the New Naval Zeppelin's. He had recently been on a mission over the Ukraine. In fact he had on the orders of the Kaiser Bombed Russian positions near the border. It appeared that since the death of Crown Prince Wilhelm Russia and the Empire were engaged in a series of strikes on one another.

Edward met with Kaiser Wilhelm II, who was the current head of the Empire and the visit went quite well. It would seem that there was a strong possibility that the next Kaiser of the Austro- German Empire might be a Hapsburg. Wilhelm had become Kaiser in 1913 after Franz Joseph had passed away. Thus he had been serving as the Kaiser for nearly 20 years and would retain the post until his death.

Relations between the Austro-German Empire and the British Empire appeared to be off to a good start. Kaiser Wilhelm II was looking to establish good relations. Both empire shared the same enemy Russia. The Prince of Wales was certain that things were off to a good start. An agreement was signed allowing the landing of one another Civilian Blimps/ Zeppelins in one another country. Currently the allowed sites were Vienna and Athens in the Austro-German Empire and New Dehili and Bombay in British India. There were talk of allowing additional air routes including Capetown and Singapore, Berlin and Cologne.
