IMHO, I fear that the early seventies might be too early for the TTL technology (and lower populations and global economy) to mature enough to send people to the Moon. But with perseverance, it might be doable in the early TTL 1980's. In the meantime launch technology, communications and satellites can be developed more. The United States began an effort to land a man on the Moon before the end of President Reagan's first term. Former President Mosby was put in charge of the effort.
Preventing another Fall will be indeed a major concern for the overwhelming majority of governments and citizens.President Reagan in an address to a joint session of Congress announced the Idea of doing something to insure that another event like The Fall would never happen to the Earth..He announced that the United States, Kingdom of Hawaii,Great Britain, Austria and the Empire of Brazil would each contribute to developing a plan to defend the Eath. The Terran Defense Initiative would take time and money and all five nation had pledged resources to it. The goal was to have something developed by 1992.
