Colonel La Pietra arrived back in Hawaii and he was called to the Brazilian Embassy where the Brazilian Crown Prince annonced that the Colonel was out of uniform. He had a puzzled expression when his father came in with a new uniform jacket which indicated that he was now a Brigadier of Engineers.

Brigadier La Pietra returned on leave from his assignment with the Hawaiian Working group. He briefed the Government Ministers on the issues remaining. He had been decorated by the Hawaiian King for service to the Kingdom. His efforts were appreciated and Prime Minister Kamehameha had sent a letter to the Brazilian Emperor and to the Army Minister regarding the outstanding service given to the group by the Colonel and latter Brigadier.

Brigadier La Pietra enjoyed his leave in Brazil. He returned to Hawaii on a Royal Hawaii Airways airship. He was greeted by General Roosevelt at the airport who advised him that the Prime Minister was in Austria conferring with the Emperor. Things had reached a crisis mode as Russian and Ukrainian forces had engaged in a series of firefights. The Ukraine was mobilizing reservist and Austria had reinforced its troops in the Crimea. The Polish-Russian border was quiet with no additional Russian forces sent there.

With the outbreak of war in Europe and the collapse of the peace talks Prime Minister Kamehameha sent Brigadier La Pietra back to Brazil with a letter to the Emperor. He thanked the Emperor for the loan of the Brigadier and requested that a liaison Naval Mission be sent to Hawaii from Brazil to co-ordinate co-operation between the Royal Hawaiian Navy, Imperial Brazilian Navy and the US navy during the pleasantries in Europe

Neuva Granada had a very negative reaction to the Mexican Dictator during the post Fall period. It considered him a threat to the security of the entire region and thus was willing to do a lot to alter things. Spain really suffered a great deal during The Fall and has never really re-established itself in the new World. After restoring order Spain proceeded with help from the US and Brazil to put Cuba on a path to self rule and independence.

A request from Hawaii came to the Brazilian Government for Brigadier La Pietra to lead one of the groups to Finland to meet with the Russians. The General arrived in Hawaii and would lead a team of Hawaiian, Americans and Brazilians. He would be the Special advisor to the Hawaiian Asst. Secretary of State.
