George Kamehameha had reached agreements with his Australian and New Zealand partners and now he had hammered out an agreement with the Canadians and the Americans. He was attempting to get everyone on the same page while preventing an arms race. The Agreement with the Australians,Americans and Canadians had meant that all of the countries wuld be using the same weapons. The 5"/38 had become the standard weapon for destroyers meaning that the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Hawaiian Navy would share the same weapon as would the Americans. This would reduce cost and allow greater capacity for inter-naval co-operation.
