Peshawar Lancers Redux: Kingdom of Hawaii Revised

Prime Minister Reynolds together with the American Secretary of State calmed things down between the two Asian powers. Manchuria was still closed but Japan would review applicants by Han Chinese to visit relative that had fled to that region. The Prime Minister of the Royal Crown Colony of Hong Kong held talks with the Chinese President and had met with the Japanese Counsel General in Hong Kong.

Prime Minister Reynolds flew to Japan and met with the Japanese Prime Minister to see what help he might be. After three days of tals he flew to China and met with the Chinese President. Afterwards he held a meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister on Guam.

Prime Minister Reynolds flew to the United States to meet with the new President and to discuss getting together all of the Nations that had been involved in the space project.
It was the Prime Minister's belief that this needed to be a project that everyone agreed with. President Gleason agreed to a meeting in London with representatives from: US, Hawaii, Great Britain,Austria, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brazil, Ireland, France.

Paul Kamehameha, was the grandson of Charles B Kamehameha. He was a lawyer who was specialist in Administrative law. He had been asked to join the legal team at the Terran Space Agency. He had been involved in three cases before the World Court so he had experience.

Hawaii recommended to the Terran Space Agency that Neuva Granada ,the Union of South Africa,India and the Republic of China be considered for membership. Brazil had suggested adding Portugal.

Hawaii was already seeing changes as the 21st century progressed. It had supported expansion of the Terran Space Agency. Change was coming and as the new Technology had more of an impact there was wonder would the Polynesian People of the Kingdom of Hawaii join in the exploration of Space.

Prime Minister Reynolds was preparing Hawaii for changes in the world. He seemed to spend a lot of time helping to smooth out problems while they were small. The people of the Kingdom accepted that the Prime Minister was trying and as a result they re-elected him to two more terms as Prime Minister.

The 2040's saw the Liberal Democrat finally have one of its members elected as Prime Minister. Tulsi Gaborat served as Prime Minister for 8 years. She governed more as a centerist than as a Liberal Democrat. After eight years she retired and was nominated by her National Conservative successor to serve with the Terran Space Agency. She served as the Governor of Alfa Centuri and retired.

The colony started with a population of 3.000 and grew to 90,000. Most transports and merchant ships were only capable of Warp Factor 4. Only the Terran Space Agency's ships were equipped with the more powerful Warp 7 engines. Eventually Merchant ships owed by large corporations would have the more powerful engine.

King Edward II was reading the records that his grandmother and Grandfather had made during their courtship. Edward was the King of Hawaii but he also was a person with strong ties to the Empire of Brazil. His mother was an American who his father had met during a visit to the United States. Edward had done something that few rulers had done ,he had traveled to Mars and had even traveled much further into space. His mother had been worried and while it was thrilling it was not something that he could do again. He had discussed things with the new Prime Minister Paul Andrew McNamara.

The King was thinking had how much progress the world had made since the event know as The Fall. As the Kingdom of Hawaii approached the 22 nd Century things were a lot different Solar Power was now providing 40% of the country's electric power and geothermal another 20%. A new form of atomic power provided power without the waste that had been a problem to deal with. The Earth atmosphere was cleaner than ever.
Great progress had been made on Mars restoring it and work had altered Venus. The King recalled his visits to colonies far from the Earth Amazing.

The Kingdom of Hawaii saw its first Samoan Prime Minister elected in 2152 Paul Koakee served as Prime Minister for 3 1/2 years and developed an illness which lead to his unexpected death.He was succeeded by Paul Kao,who was a member of the house from Guam. He completed the term but did not run for the house again.

Hawaii had changed a great deal from the small kingdom that existed during the Fall. As the world entered the 22nd century things had changed a great deal. Fuel Cell technology had resulted in real low to zero emissions for motor vehicles. A cleaner nuclear power existed. Scientist were discussing the real possibility of being able to move planets, something which had first been discussed in a science Fiction novel in the 20th Century.

In the 22nd century the Royal Hawaiian Military had bwgun to adjust to changing circumstance. Both the Army and the Navy had begun to shrink. The Navy was still sizeable but some warships had been retired and not replaced. Space seemed to be drawing a lot of the earth's population and the population on earth had fallen to under two billion.

The Royal Hawaiian Armed Forces seemed to be more and more involved in assisting the Security forces and assiting in planet security. This seemed to be the case with most of the world's military.

Sean Michael O'Hara arrived in Hawaii and paid a visit to the Irish Embassy. The Embassy helped him to get a meeting with the King of Hawaii and Michael Scott Kamehameha,who was a descendant of William Kamehameha the Prime Minister of Hawaii during some of those years. Williams family had collected the papers of not only his by of Charles Bishop and the other family members who had served as Prime Minister.

Sean Michael O'Hara had a two hour meeting with the Hawaiian King and they discussed Hawaii's relationship with Ireland. The King took Mr O'Hara to the private Royal archives and gave him permission to read the books related to the late 19th century and the early 20th century.

Sean Michael O'Hara was invited to the William Kamehameha Estate where he met with Michael Scott Kamehameha. Michael discussed what he knew of the family history but he said that a cousin had written a book on his great great grandfather and suggested that he check it. There was a vast library on the estate that covered at least 5 family members that had held the post of Prime Minister and there were the papers of Charles Bishop and of Admiral William Kamehameha II and III.

William C McNamara arrived home and since he was the family's historian he met with Sean Michael and directed him to the papers that covered the period in question.
