Peshawar Lancers Redux: Kingdom of Hawaii Revised

George W Kamehameha realized that his British ally would not like the fact that he was talking to a member of the Russian Government but George recalled several conversations that he had with his father. The point of which was that unless you are willing to talk there is no way to solve any problem. Thus he was willing to see if a solution could be found to avoid a war. He agreed to meet with the Russian Prime Minister in Finland in July. The Hawaiian and Russian Ambassadors would meet at the Chinese Foreign Ministry to work out details and prevent the British Government from learning of the meeting.

While relations between Hawaii and its ally Britain were good ,George was charting a new course in the relationship. He believed that it was better to try to reach a diplomatic settlement than to continue the hard line approach of isolating Russia. It was time to avoid a war or at least make the effort Hawaii's Ambassador to the Austrian Empire arrange for Hawaii's Prime Minister to talk to the Kaiser. In a phone call that lasted 2 hours the two discussed Russia and a willingness to try to avoid a war.

George then met with the Ambassador from the Empire of the Rising Sun and they had a serious talk concerning Hawaiian proposals to resolve the trouble with Russia.

George secretly flew to Finland to meet with the Russians. The only European leader that knew about the meeting was the Austrian Emperor. They had spoken about the matter and exchanged secret correspondence about it. Thw only people that knew about the meeting in Finland was the Secretary of State , Head of the Royal Hawaiian Secret Service, Director of Royal Hawaiian Intelligence Agency and the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral William Kamehameha II who had been nominated to become the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff in another month.

George met with the Russians in a secret site. The Finns were providing security and they made sure that no unauthorized people were allowed anywhere near the site. Grand Duke Michael was present with the Russian Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister. The first day both sides stated their positions based upon talks previously held and internal discussions. The Russians seemed to be somewhat more flexible as they moved away from demands for the entire Ukraine. Russia wanted most of White Russia returned from Poland but in turned offered to recognize the new border and the Kingdom of Poland as an independent entity. George asked about recognition of the independence of the Baltic States and Grand Duke Michael said that Russia would acknowledge their independence but had only1 demand no bases for German or Austrian troops in those countries. George also brought up the security of India and the Grand Duke answered that Russia would acknowledge Britain's control of India and would do nothing to threaten that. George then talked about Manchuria and the touchy situation between the Russians and Empire of the Rising Sun. He proposed a border Commission to resolve the border problems between the two nation. The Russians agreed and then George said the Empire of the Rising Sun had also agreed to the Hawaiian proposal...Three Nations would sit on the commission both parties had now agreed that Hawaii would be one. George then Proposed the United States, Empire of Brazil, Neuva Granada,Spain or Italy. The Russians agreed to the United States but wanted to consult with the Czar and other advisors before choosing the third member. They would let the Hawaiian Prime Minister Know their choice in1 week.

Arriving in Hawaii was a special delegation from the United States and one from the Empire of Brazil. The Group met at the William Kamehameha Institute. Special quarters had been provided at the Institute and security was provided by a Uniformed Guard Service run by the family of the late William Kamehameha's partner from his time in the Royal Hawaii Constabulary.

With special clearance a team from the working group visited the Ukraine, Crimea and white Russia. They checked out the border claims of both sides and took recordings of interviews as well as thousands of pictures.
Meanwhile in Hawaii, the main group proceeded to process information with assistance from the Royal Hawaiian Intelligence Agency and the Royal Hawaiian Army and Navy. Maps were provided as well as records regarding ownership. The population of the region was documented.

Spring of 1922: the exhausted teams arrived from Eastern Europe and were given 4 day to rest and recover from the stress, Meanwhile a fresh team went over everything that they had done and began to organize every piece of paper into proper documentation thus resembling a proper report. George knew that there was no time to waste but putting pressure on his people would create more problems than it solved. On Day 5 he met with everyone and thanked them for their efforts. A new team would be leaving for Manchuria to gather evidence on the border problem there. He Also announced that Patrick S O'Malley would be taking over as director of the Group and Colonel Theodore Roosevelt II would be taking the post of Director of Operations while Colonel La Pietra would be number 3 in the chain of Command.

May 1922 Prime Minister George Kamehameha was busy reading a report when his secretary buzzed. Mrs Wilcox was on the phone and asked to speak to the Prime Minister. She told him that Mrs Wilcox sounded like a dam about to burst. George said put her through. She told George that Christopher had passed away just a half hour ago and that the doctor had been called by the nurse. She didn't know what to do but George said that he would handle everything and would be over in an hour. He then called the Commissioner of Police and made arrangement to have the body sent to the Naval Hospital. He called his wife and arranged for a car to pick her up. He called Charles to check about the financial arrangements and he said that he would call the Secretary of the Treasury about the Pension. George called the Secretary of the Army to set the wheels in motion for a state funeral.

Prime Minister George W Kamehameha and his wife lead a delegation from Hawaii to attend the state funeral of the late President Theodore Roosevelt. With him was His Brother Admiral William Kamehameha II and his wife, Secretary of State Richard Nufero and 12 members of the two Houses of the Hawaiian Parliament, as well as the King of Hawaii.

George returned from the United States and found that the work seemed to be piling up. He had a briefing on how things were going with the Special Studies Group regarding both Eastern Europe and now the Far East. Colonel La Pietra stated that he had received co-operation from both sides and he had made real progress. He was hoping to rap things up in a month and return to Hawaii to sort everything out.

George was due back in Helsinki to meet with the Russians and present the Commission recommendation regarding the border. The Russians would only be happy with some of the proposals regarding the Ukraine but with the adjustment of the Polish-Russian Border both sides had adjusted their position that made a deal possible. George was hoping that he could settle the Russian-Manchurian border and the Mongolia- Manchurian border problem. George was meeting with the Foreign Minister from the Empire of the Rising Sun to discuss the ongoing study.

Admiral William Kamehameha II in a family dinner with all of the family gathered his brothers into the Library and announced that he was planning on retiring from the Navy in 6 years. The only thing that he was overseeing now was the arrival of aircraft into the military. George started to try to talk William into dismissing the idea entirely but Charles said that their older brother knew what he was doing and the Kamehameha Estate could probably use more attention. William had inherited the Dukedom and there were responsibilities that should be dealt with.

George had depended upon his older brother for advise regarding the military. He knew that William's children would be graduating from High school during the next decade. He knew that William's oldest son would graduate from High school in 1930 and then it was likely that he would attend the Naval Academy. His children would also be graduating from the secondary schools and would then enter college .
