Peshawar Lancers Redux: Kingdom of Hawaii Revised

Hawaii was growing in the Post Fall period due to the incorporation of other Polynesian peoples into the kingdom and the acceptance of refugee. Still from what Mr Kamehameha was able to find out the British Army and the Royal Navy were able to assit the Hawaiian Military in the construction of weapons.

Walter Gibson served as Prime Minister during the 5 years after the Fall and then he was replaced by Charles Bishop. Walter was named as Ambassador to the Court of St James ( British) and was latter Knighted by Queen Victoria for his service to the co-operation between both nations.
Among the records that our historian came across were those of a young Constable. He was named William Kamehameha. The young man had attended the Royal College of Hawaii. He held a degree in History and a minor in law . Walter Gibson had cleared the way for his entering the Royal Hawaiian Constabulary. He attend the Academy and graduated top of his class. He was a constable and helped to solve a robbery. He was promoted to Detective Constable and solved two more crime cases.earning a promotion to Sergeant. He was transferred to the Intelligence section and promoted to Inspector. He was then made part of Prime Minister Bishop's Detail and served as an agent with his Sgt Sean O'Malley

Hawaii's new Prime Minister was impressed by the young Police Inspector and he knew that he could go far in the new Hawaii. William at this point wanted more than anything to be the next Chief Superintendent of the Royal Hawaiian Constabulary. But Charles Bishop wanted much more for him. He knew who the lads father was. and he felt that one day William could hold his job as Prime Minister. He had a mission for him and his friend in Central America and then he wanted him to consider a political career.

In order to find out what happen in Central America he had to gain access to records that were still listed as classified. He decided to try another approach while he waited to see if the information would be made available. He travel over to O'Malley Investigations. O'Malley Investigations had been founded by Sean O'Malley and was run by his grandchildren. He taled with Patrick O'Malley , who was 38 years old and the Manager of the company. Patrick had been an investigator and then had gone to Law School and become a really smart legal brain. When Christopher Kamehameha II asked him about his Grandfathers trip to Central America he smiled and they went to another building . There in a locked room were the Journal Of Sean O'Malley. He pulled out a book and gave it to Christopher telling him he could read it there. It had been printed into readable writing and it should answer his questions.

The Book did answer a lot of questions but also raised more It seemed that Detective Chief Inspector Kamehameha was commanding a special force. He was to provide protection to the diplomatic staff that was trying to reach a trade agreement and at the same time he was running an Intelligence mission. He and his group clashed with agents of the Mexican Government that was attempting to dominate the region. In some cases that resulted in an armed clash between the sides.

Hawaii was finding that its military and resources were stretched to the limit. They had to take resources from Canada to provide the machinery to build things. But the Canadians were seeing much of their country crushed by the falling snow and dropping temperatures as a result of the Fall. More and More of the rail line to the west closed as the weather in effect shut things down. But the people were smart enough to heed the warnings and flee to the west. The Canadian Army and Police maintained order but as they fell back they had to depend upon the Hawaiian Marines at Vancouver to maintain order. Rats were in the cities and attempting to get at the food. Gunfire and fire was seen.

The Machinery from Canada that arrived in Hawaii was increasing the country's ability to produce things but Hawaii still needed the resources to feed those industries.

As Christopher Kamehameha read more documents he found that the assignment that his Great Grandfather had taken was something like one of those spy movies. Only this was for real and the stakes were quite high. The hawaiians and Mexicans fought a secret war in the Central American Republic. But while the cost was high the Hawaiian back government forces won and the ground work was laid for trade and eventually the idea of a canal.

Hawaii had sent ships through the straits of Magellan with Military equipment for the Brazilians. In doing so they took a gable that Brazil would win. The Hawaiians landed a detachment of Marines in the Falkland Islands at the request of the British.

William Kamehameha and his party returned from Central America and into a new crisis. There was a need to expand the police force as well as the Military and William was named as the new deputy chief of the Royal Hawaiian Constabulary. He held the post for 9 months before he was pressured into running for a seat in the legislature.

Having won his seat in the Legislature Prime Minister Charles Bishop appointed the Young Kamehameha to had the new Committee on the Royal Hawaiian Constabulary and to the Intelligence board. He jumped in and showed an ability to get the job done.

William Kamehameha chaired the Committee and also served as the first director of the Royal Hawaiian Intelligence Agency. As a member of the house he introduced reforms to the Royal Hawaiian Constabulary which improved the officer candidates seeking to enter the Police Academy. He also pushed through a number of reforms that improved the tools available to the agency. Fingerprinting was now one of the new tools. There was also co-operation between the New Scotland Yard, Australian and New Zealand Police as well as the RCMP.

For Hawaii things were tough. The country had been slowly building an industrial base and then the Fall had happen. They had been allowed to buy machinery from Canada. Actually there was the ability to just take what was abandon.

The 1880s saw the creation of Hawaii steel industry. The Island was able to manufacture steel but to do so required the importation of raw materials from outside of Hawaii. To be honest it was a struggle to make deals and in some cases the Hawaiians were Mining in Canada during the Summer months to gain coal and Iron ore. It was a struggle. Coal was the source of not only heat but electricity as well as the power source for shipping. Hawaii had none so it had to import everything. Trade with Australia and New Zealand grew as did co-operation between the nations.
