Peshawar Lancers Redux: Kingdom of Hawaii Revised

Hawaii's new Prime Minister wanted to move in a new direction. In a new diplomatic move Hawaii recognized the Republic of China as the legitimate government over the territory that it controlled. It made sure that the Republic of China and the Empire of the Rising Sun were both informed that Hawaii did not support war but diplomacy between the parties. However the Empire of the Rising Sun decided to increase spending on its navy as a result of the change in direction by Hawaii and Britain.
 
The Hawaiian Secretary of State arrived in the Home Islands of the Empire of the Rising Sun in an attempt to smooth any problems that the new policy by Hawaiian Prime Minister. The Secretary had a meeting with the Foreign Minister and then a surprise meeting with the Emperor. The Emperor wanted to ask questions and receive assurances that Hawaii was not encouraging hostilities between the two parties.
 
Hawaii's Prime Minister was now being called upon by the members of the house to explain his new Policy stance and the appearance that it had caused a diplomatic breech with the Empire of the Rising Sun. The Prime Minister was quite unhappy that the leader of the National Conservative Party and the Deputy Prime Minister was not in Hawaii at this moment of Crisis. George was attending the Ceremony in Ireland where the new King was being invested with the powers. George Kamehameha and his wife were part of the offical Hawaiian Delegation along with Hawaii's King
 
The Hawaiian delegation arrived back in Hawaii and he was greeted by his brother the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of State.
George drove with the Royal party to the palace and the Prime Minister arrived within 20 minutes of their arrival. There was a conversation with the three people involved in a serious conversation.
 
George Kamehameha pointed out to the Prime Minister that he didn't consult him before making a public announcement. This started to set the Prime Minister off until George added that he did not see anything wrong with establishing relations with the Republic of China only how it was carried out. The King then stated that he agreed with George and would speak with the Japanese Ambassador to make clear that Hawaii was not changing its relationship with the Empire of the Rising Sun but opening a door with the Chinese Government in order to insure that there were diplomacy not war.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister addressed the Foreign Affairs committee regarding the administration's policy regarding relations with the Republic of China. He appeared to put out a lot of the fires that the Prime Minister had set off in the National Conservative Party
 
George Kamehameha testified before the Foreign relations committee to support establishing diplomatic relations with China. He was an expert at getting things done. By the time that the committee was finished receiving testimony it approved the proposal and were prepared to receive the administrations candidate for Ambassador to the Republic of China.
 
Charles Kim Lee was nominated as the Administrations Ambassador to the Republic of China Charles was of mixed heritage. He was of American, Chinese and Polynesian descent. He spoke two Chinese dialectics, Polynesian, Korean, Japanese as well as English.
He had served in several diplomatic post including the Hawaiian Consulate in Hong Kong. He held a degree in History and a Masters in Chinese History.
 
Ambassador Lee was warmly greeted by the Chinese government and the people of the Chinese Capital. The Chinese were only recognized by Russia, Hawaii, Britain and now the United States. The Empire of the Rising Sun maintained diplomatic contact with the Chinese viva the two countries consulates in Hong Kong.
 
The Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Hawaii left by Pan Hawaiian Airways for Hawaii. The Ambassador and 6 of his staff were aboard the airship. Additional staff would travel from India.
 
The Ambassador from the Republic of China was greeted by the Secretary of State and the Deputy Prime Minister both assured the Ambassador that he was welcomed to the Kingdom. There was a connection between the two people and they looked forward to co-operation. The Ambassador said that he welcomed the Kingdom of Hawaii's outreach to the Chinese people. China appreciated the fact that Hawaii risked much by standing for freedom rather than making money. The people of China's yearning to make their own choices were clear but they had heard the Hawaii's request to do it peacefully.
 
China's new Ambassador to the Kingdom of Hawaii agreed to an interview with the Kingdom's largest newspaper. He agreed to a fully open discussion of what the Ambassador thought of conditions in China, relations with the Empire of the Rising Sun, Hong Kong and what did he see as China's relationship with Hawaii,, the British Empire and the other nations of the west. The Ambassador was quite frank that the Republic of China was in many ways way behind the rest of the work. Chungking was a new and growing city. Buildings were constantly going up. There were few telephones in the country. China Had hired the Royal Hawaiian Telephone and telegraph company to assit it in wiring the country. He hope that in the coming 5 years the number of phones in China would go from 10,000 to more than 150,000.
 
Hawaii's Secretary of State meet with the Chinese and Empire of the Rising Sun Delegations in Hong Kong to discuss resolving some border issues in Southern China. The Hawaiians were attempting to defuse any issues that might lead to conflict. They had gotten the Chinese to compromise and now sought to get the Empire to give in a little to peacefully resolve the issue. After two weeks of talks an agreement was reached that both sides could live with. The British and Hawaiians then were able to resolve an issue regarding Rivers.
