What survivors had managed to make it to safety had been interviewed by a lot of experts. The Super-volcano had released poisonous gases through cracks in the lakes. Military experts believed that this alone might have resulted in the deaths os 250,000 or more people. Food production had been destroyed in the region and with transportation system also destroyed there was concern that conditions might grow worse before they improved. Experts believed that it might be 30-40 years before conditions improved. Some worried that Cannibalism might be a threat. The Belgian Congo had a military force but it would be hard pressed to maintain order just in the Central Belgian Congo.

Germany and Austria were working together on an effort to stimulate technology. For decades the airship had dominated the skies and thrown cold water on efforts to improve the airplane technology but now there was a need to be able to move things much faster.

The nations of Europe were with the exception of Russia working together to better prepare themselves for any potential crisis that might occur in the future. There was still too much distrust with the Russians to make them a party to the effort.

Europe was finding some possible problems with volcanic eruptions seen as a possibility in Italy and earthquakes in both Italy and the Baltic region. There had been some minor quakes reported in Asia Minor and the Caucasus region.

George W Kamehameha and his wife returned to Hawaii to assist with the problems being faced. George was concern that someone unelected had been appointed to the post of Prime Minister. The fact that it was his brother's youngest son and a military officer did raise some concern.

President Eisenhower along with Secretary of State John Foster Dulles and Hawaiian Prime Minister Christopher Kamehameha and his Secretary of State arrived in Finland for a meeting with the Russian Czar, His Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister. There was a formal Dinner at the Royal Hawaiian Embassy and talks lasted for two hours. The following day the three leaders met while the Secretaries of State and the Foreign Minister began to work on things that the Czar , President and Prime Minister had agreed to the previous night. Czar Michael seemed to be trying very hard to come up with something that all three leaders could agree to. He hoped that this might eventually lead to better relations with the other European Powers and a settlement with the Empire of the Rising Sun.
Each journey began with steps taken and hopefully it might result in an ending of the Great Game.

The Americans and the Hawaiians were finding that the government of German, Austria and Poland were objecting to giving Russia a permanent seat on the World Security Council
. Britain had been Luke warm to the idea and the Empire of the Rising Sun was not exactly happy about it either. This meant either trying to sell the idea again or giving up. Neither the US nor Hawaii thought that giving up would be good for world peace.

Captain Christopher Kamehameha and his wife landed in southern Ireland at the huge Hawaiian Naval-Air Force Base. The Children were remaining in Hawaii and were staying with their Grandparents. They would fly to Ireland for Christmas and then return home for the rest of the school year. There was a change of Command ceremony . The Captain was updated on the goings on by the Royal Hawaiian Intelligency Agency station chief.

In 1965 the Captain was informed that he was on the promotion list. The Promotion came through in August that he was now a Rear Admiral. He was now the highest ranking Hawaiian Military officer in Europe. As such he attended the Military conference in Portugal and the latter European defense Conference in London.

Hawaii under the Liberal Democrat party was a question mark. The fact that the Prime Minister kept on the Secretary of State that had served in the last two administrations gave them hope. Still Hawaiian Foreign Aid had been reduced by the party.
