Peshawar Lancers Redux: Europe

With the exception of the conflict between Russia and Poland things in Europe seem very peaceful. Britain has seen a lot of resettlement growth as has France, The Netherlands and Belgium.

George Kamehameha arrived in Ireland. He was Deputy Prime Minister and was holding talks with the Irish Government regarding the Hawaiian bases in Ireland. He could remember taking a vacation to the country when his father was Prime Minister but he had never had the time to take the time off. His wife was pleased to be back in the country as it gave her a chance to visit with family. Talk of retirement was coming up more often these days.

There were a number of members of the Nobility in Ireland for the important swearing in. Prince Louis of Germany, Crown Prince Otto of Austria, Prince Imperial of France and the Incoming US President and the Duke of York were all there.

The Netherlands was in the midst of a massive recovery. It had seen a lot of its population returning from overseas. It was finding that it needed a lot of assistance in building a first class navy to defend its territory.

Hawaii had sent a team of experts to help advise the Dutch on some of the newer technology regarding recover of land. Meanwhile Britain's King /Emperor had returned to Great Britain to inspect the improvements. He was quite impressed with the way London looked. Indeed there was a lot of open space.

1931 Former Prime Minister spent 2 weeks with his wife in Ireland after his retirement from Political Office and then he spent another week in England as a guest of the Lord Regent. Then it was time to go home as he had to earn a living to pay off the estate that he and his wife had bought. He was aked for an interview by several of the Kingdom's newspapers and agreed to give two.

Ireland and Portugal were seeing booming economies as a result of the money that had been invested in the countries from outside. Lisbon had been rebuilt and a lot of problems had been addressed.

The George Kamehameha Branch of the Family was in Ireland to celebrate the Christmas holiday with his wife's relative. George was enjoying his new job and the freedom that it gave him . His wife was glad to see other members of her extended family. George was always able to get in touch with Hawaii viva the large Naval/Air base in Ireland,

The European Powers were quite concern with the reemergence of Russia as a power. The Austrians had supported the Poles to create a buffer state between themselves and the Russians. Russia was a concern to the British both before and after the Fall. Now that the earth's climate was improving there was a belief that the Russians would once again clash with the British, Germans and the Japanese. Russia had supported the Chinese in their effort to regain what had been lost to the Empire of the Rising Sun. To an extent they had been successful but in clashes over the prize of Manchuria the Empire of the Rising Sun had checked a Russian thrust.
