Perfect World

Meh, I think that every timeline is more or less the same in terms of goodness and badness. Objectively speaking, the sum total of suffering and pain is probably about the same in every possible universe...except for one in which life never develops...and we don't want that, do we?

Also, the year is 2013 what? AVC? (Poor joke, don't kill me!)

See, I don't think I agree with that at all -- there's all kinds of suffering and horrors contained in our history that could have not happened, and your idea would imply that every single instance of it has made up for it. It's like saying, "Sure we could have avoided WWII, but that would have just made following decades worse off." The problem there is just about anything you could give in the way of definition here tends to pale in comparison to the actual suffering of OTL -- "Like without the Holocaust, we'd have a lot more anti-semitism." Or it misses the point entirely -- "Without a Second World War, we wouldn't have learned the necessary lessons to avoid another one".

So given that, I'd say it's not hard at all to imagine a world that, since the PoD, has seen much less suffering, pain, and general badness than OTL. Now that's a little different than the OP of world's with 2013 that better off, but that's an even easier matter (if definitely distinct -- no WWII may not be the best answer there).

Wow, I'm sure thankful that OP is so involved and active in his threads, and clarifies every thing we ask about.

I'm pretty sure we can all agree more pizza probably wouldn't hurt.
