The debate over the atom bombs in Japan is still potent today, even on AH.com. I feel that, because of the bombs, the Japanese are considered "less bad" even though they committed horrible atrocities too. Today, the Japanese government seems to use the bombs to absolve itself of crimes committed.
If the Nazis get hit with the bombs, would there have been more sympathy for Nazi Germany in the post-war world? Would the atom bombs affect discussions about things like the Holocaust? How would left-wingers perceive the bombs knowing they were dropped on fascists?
