Inspired by a thread a couple of years ago which I replied to.
What if the WAllies had better foresight and built around 20 Mulberry's instead of the 2 that where originally built ( 1 was wrote off in a storm)?
Like my original post, I was thinking off basing at least 1 every 50 or so miles up the Channel from Normandy, and then along the Belgium then Dutch coasts as the WAllies progressed forward.
Would it have been possible to prefab this many Mulberry's?
Would it allow an increase in the speed of the Allied offensive in the West due to the logistic build up from not having just 2 Mulberry's and not having to rely on using the French rail network which was virtually bombed into oblivion before D-Day?
Would this negate the future "Battle of the Scheldt" and the now infamous "Market Garden"?
