PC/WI: An ISIS-Israel War?

Had ISIS captured all of Syria or at least Damascus and the area around the Golan Heights (in addition to its our TL conquests, of course), would it have been plausible for ISIS to then invade Israel, being motivated by its messianic fanaticism?

If so, how badly would Israel have defeated ISIS in such a war? Also, how far inside of Syria and Iraq would Israel have went in this TL?

Hard to imaginate that ISIS could capture whole Syria. But even if it does that there would be co-intervention by Nato, Russia, Iran and some other Middle Eastern nations (probably Iraq and Jordan). So Israel should be pretty well if ISIS doesn't get nukes or chemical/biological weapons.

Had the U.S. helped the "moderate" Syrian rebels much more, I could see them overthrowing Assad only to get outmaneuvered by ISIS later on. After all, revolutions sometimes descend into radicalism and fanaticism and thus I think that the odds would have unfortunately been very good that, in such a scenario, ISIS could have captured all of Syria other than perhaps the Kurdish-majority areas in northern Syria and the Alawite coastal strip around Latakia.

What about if Assad doesn't give up his chemical weapon stockpile in this TL and thus ISIS acquires all of these chemical weapons after Assad is overthrown, though?

If the US backs toppling the Assad regime in September 2013 and then ISIS takes most of Syria, the Israelis will probably put a large amount of troops on the border, shoot anyone crossing said border on sight and if they really feel threatened will pound the Islamic state to dust.

Israel undertook ground incursions into Gaza and Lebanon in the last few years, which I think went well enough when it came to putting a limit to attacks on Israel.

So I imagine they do the same to ISIS in Syria.

So a ground incursion into Damascus followed by a withdrawal?

Yep, with less of the squeamishness that Western countries, safe across oceans, show when they do the nasty. The IDF is highly professional and nothing like the Eastern Front of WW2, but its their homes being rocketed and the like so if they have to kill more people then they kill them.

Yes, the other Arabs will defame the "bastardly jews" for attacking there brothers in faith, but indoors praise allah that ISIS in getting nailed. I think there will be a lot of backdoor traffic to support Israel but the general public can't be made aware.

Well, ISIS would be even more fucked up, which isn't a bad thing. Those S.O.B have managed to get Turkey and Russsia-Iran-Syria and Western coalition (France, U.S.A) and Arab countries (UAE) fighting them, if only in a uncoordinated way.
Add Israel into the mix, well, that's another modern army crushing ISIS. I'd say everybody willing to fight ISIS is welcome.
