Okay, this was actually inspired by a thread that's... kind of bad, but also by discussions about things like Vietnam.

Basically, what if the United States refused to participate in the European Front of World War 2 because of the UK had pissed away its favor? Now, how does this occur? Well... in that thread it was because Churchill does something really stupid in regards to the handling of an incident, however hopefully there's a more plausible way for that to occur.

Now, what this would cause in the long run is, (unless the US still supplies the Soviets with Land-Lease which I consider unlikely here), a Europe that gets pretty devastated. After all, the Soviets can kick the Germans out of their territory, but don't have the manpower for further, while the Nazis have no chance of damaging the Soviet Union. While this occurs, the US knocks out Japan, focusing on it, which won't take long considering all the industry focused on Japan. However, this US will never, directly at least, enter the war in Europe.

The Cold War emerging from this would be different, to say the least. For one, Europe isn't getting anything from the US in this TL. No Marshall Plan, or anything like that. Besides that, the United States now has bad relations with the United Kingdom, which because of other factors from this, is heavily reduced in power. Assuming the Fascists collapse in Europe, we'll probably see a wave of Communists elected in because nothing like the Marshall Plan exists to get the populace behind them.

For Asia, the US has no relation to France, so perhaps we might see a better reaction to Ho Chi Minh, unlike OTL, as the US has no reason to ally with France, if it even exists in any form resembling its OTL self. However, this is assuming the US doesn't enter isolationism again, which is rather... dark to say the least.

For the Soviet Union, while this might seem like a wank, they will probably overstretch, assuming they don't allow other Communist powers, something Stalin wasn't exactly fond of. Additionally, it will be probably even MORE worn out than OTL, as it's unlikely it gains Land-Lease from the US in this scenario.
