PC: United Hispanic America

A lot of people jump to "ASB" when talking about a united independent Hispanic America. Indeed if things go as IOTL up until the Napoleonic invasions, the caudillo system and the provincial patriotism is hard to avoid and one would need a dozen of Bolivars to avoid the Balkanization of Hispanic America.
But the truth is the Spaniards managed to keep all these wide and diverse territories under their wing for 3 centuries, it can't be "impossible" to keep it united.

One of my favourite "united Hispanic America" scenarios is an analogy with how the Braganças managed to keep Brazil in one piece. It was an easier task than uniting lands from Mexico to the Southern Cone but still impressive.

WI... the Bourbons escape from the claws of Napoleon and establish themselves in America acting as a centriptal force?
WI... afterwards, for a number of reasons the monarch in the Americas differs from the monarch in Spain or otherwise the Spanish empire remains united but never ceases to be headquartered in America?

I think it's plausible. Do you?
How can such a huge polity survive united through the 19th and 20th centuries?

I think you have to avoid Napoleon's invasion altogether. The Spanish Empire can move to the Americas and evolve into an Imperial Federation.
